Input on 245/40/17 F and 255/40/17 R on 17x9 +45 wheels

Alright gents. Wondering if anyone has run this setup yet:

245/40/17 Front with 24.7" overall diameter
255/40/17 Rear with 25" overall diameter

17x9 +45 wheels

Thinking about going this route as I sometimes rub my front tires on the fenders. I'm concerned that the 1/3" difference in overall diameter might not look good.

I'd prefer to hear from people who have used or seen the front sizes in person

Thanks for the input.

You won't notice the diameter difference.

I've run one step smaller front vs rear on my FD for over a decade now (25 inch front, 25.3 inch rear) and it actually looks pretty damn good :)

Also remember all tire's are not the exact same width (255 vs 255). What is your ride height on the front? Many people are running 285's up front on a 9.5-10 wheel +45-50 offset without much rubbing.

Interesting... What are your ride heights?

Thanks all.

IIRC it is 25.75R and 25.25F, my car is on jack stands right now, I'll measure it once it is back on the ground this week.

Keep in mind 265/40-17 isn't the most common size.

Personally I don't like idea of running a wide tire stagger like that on a square wheel width.

ZE Power, what wheel sizes are you running? Looks pretty staggered.

ZE Power MX6 09-06-16 11:17 AM

Yeah they aren't very common, very limited selection when I was looking for tires, I ended up with some Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport.

Wheel sizes are 17x9 +35 and 17x10 +35, ride height is correct at 25.25F and 25.75R. 25.5R would be more ideal, but I can't go any lower without reducing shock travel so I just left it at 25.75R.

Well, I bought a set of the Hankook RS3s in these sizes so I'm committed :)
245/40/17 Front with 24.7" overall diameter
255/40/17 Rear with 25" overall diameter

On another note, the Hankook RS3s are on closeout at Tire Rack. Very nicely priced.
