Ideal EDFC setting for Tein Flex

hey guys

just wondering what you guys think i should set the EDFC at for my car

im just putting in my Tein Flex and for Road Race/spirited street driving

what do you guys think...stiffer in the front than the rear? stiffer in the rear than in the front??

what do you guys suggest...just get it started off and i'll continue fine tuning for how i feel with the car

thanks,
VJ

did anybody ever hit you back about this?
Im thinking about getting flexs and also thinking about the edfc

I too am planning on buying the Tein Flex with EDFC. However I'll be doing more spirited street/cruising with little to no track time. Also - what springs are you/planning to run? The stock 10/8 or 8/6?

keep in mind that you're only adjusting Rebound. Bump is fixed.

start with full soft and go up from there until the car doesnt feel 'floaty'. then you can adjust lift-off oversteer and turn-in according to guide.

I usually just have mine set to 14F 16R for street....and usually start w/ 6F 8R for track days and adjust from there. Been very happy w/ the setup for years now.

namasan,
Are you running normal Flex 10K/8K springs or the 8K/6K setup? How much of a drop are you running?

I have 8/6. I run stiffer front than rear during autox. The softer rear allows the rear tires to bite more and the stiffer front helps with slalom. At least thats my amateur input.

I think I run around 14 or 16F. I adjust the rear based on how the rear tires are biting, but its normally 4-6 less than the front. I dont think this picture is really complete without knowing what size tires and sway's you are running though.

I'm on stock sway bars

my wheel/tire setup will be 245/40/18 front and 285 or 275/30/18 rear

thanks for the input!!

With that tire ratio split you might end up wanting more stiffness in the rear just to counter act the under-steer tendency. My street tires are similar sizes and I cant stand to autox on them because of the under-steer. My suggestions were based on evenly matched tire sizes. My autox tires are 275/17's v700's on all 4 corners + tanabe sway front bar / stock rear bar.

Again... my amateur input :)

i have the tein flex coilovers i Like them but they are overkill for the streets , insane stiff to drive on the street and i've had them set up in every way possible high and low first to last click wide open srings and all the way tight and all combos in between . but they're well worth it for the track
