For what purpose(s)? Street? Track? Auto-X?

I recommend the Dunlop Direzza Star Spec or the Toyo R1R for maximum dry grip.

I agree. I have dunlop direzza and i cant seem to spin my tires anymore lol

I hve 265/40's in the rear but even back when i had my 255/50 falkens, i was able to spin them.

Btw, how much of a pain is it to order ccw's? There are a couple i have seen on peoples cars and i want to get the same ones but i dont know how to describe it since each one is basically made to order.

CCW has been doing wheels for the FD forever. ;) You just tell them which wheel you want (and send them a bunch of money); they'll take care of the rest.

Thats the problem lol. I dont know how to "tell" them. I would have to gather a bunch of pics of the wheels i want and email them to him or something.

Theres are different lips, widths, offsets and i dont know which to pick because im only going by what i see on other peoples' car. And when i ask them, they dont even know lol

I know i want the brushed center, maybe 17x10 all around, probably like a +45 offset.

Like i would have to email pics like these to them because this is EXACTLY what i want.

Brushed center, nice polished lip on them. Not too much lip but not flat faced (dont like the look of flat faced wheels). Its basically perfect, this set of wheels.

These actually belong to a member here whom i pm'ed NUMEROUS times on selling them to me lol. We actually came to an agreement of me buying them but when it was time for me to pay, guy never got back to me and i just waited and waited so i guess he changed his mind.

They only make certain wheel "styles":

The custom part has to do with "fitments".

Well its hard to mimic a certain wheel you see on a forum. Lip size and offset of the wheel is very important when you want the same exact wheel as another person, especially when you're special ordering expensive wheels. I dont know the return policy of ccw but like the old saying, "do it once, do it right".

To my knowledge, you don't get to pick "lip size". You can pick your wheel size (depending on the model, as some of them are only offered in certain sizes), offset and finish from the styles they make. Give them an email to find out what exactly your options are:

If you are looking for wheels with "lip", check out Jline Wheels:

The 17" gives you a selection of lip sizes ranging from 1" through 10" in 1/2 increments.

I dont care for lips, i just want the same exact wheel setup as the pic posted. Nothing more, nothing less, nothing different. Thats why i wanted to buy that set from that guy but he never budged lol

Yes, but your lip size will be dictated by your offset. i.e. you can ask for a 9" lip on a +45 offset, but it ain't going to happen. ;) Email them and send them the picture. Pretty much all of the FD wheels they do are the same setup unless someone specified something special/different.

24/seven 12-26-08 11:12 PM

just tell the owner john what you have and what kind of driving your going and he will set you up.. but like mahjik said pretty much all FD wheels are the same.. if you have body work its different..

the wheels in your picture up there are the race model which is the same as the street but without the center cap.. looks like the same setup i have

You'd most likely be running 285/30s all around on those size rims. You have coilovers and aftermarket toe links/trailing arms in the rear? Also might need a front fender roll unless your ride height is up there.

The tire rack yields 12 choices in that size in high performance rubber, so you have lots of choices. What's your price range? It ranges from $189 per to $373 per tire, so quite a difference there as well :)

prew 12-29-08 12:06 AM

If you end up going with the best tire offered in 285/30 let me know. I have 4 brand new Advan Neovas I would sell and can deliver.

the fenders are all rolled.. im in jersey too.. what part you from? can i see the tires? and what do you want for them?
