How much will stiff RSR Race Springs effect my ride on the street?

I've been doing track days for a few years now with my stock springs and Koni Shocks. The combo works pretty well but I think some stiffer springs would help make for faster transitions in the turns and better control.

I still drive my car on the street frequently, although it's not a daily driver. I was thinking of installing the RSR Race Springs which are 447lbs in the front and 391lbs in the rear... a rather large increase in stiffness.

How do you think this will effect the ride on the street? Will it be unbearably stiff? Any of you who have coil overs or RSR Springs with high springs rates want to give you comments? I'd appreciate any input.

Thanks,

John

Anyone? I know somebody has super stiff springs and drives on the street! How livable is it?

1) Wrong section.
2) Do a search in the Suspension forum. I just did a search and found several threads which should have what you are looking for.

Ask "oneflytrini". He is running the springs (and really seems to like them).

BTW, I run the Tein S-Tech springs which are about the same spring rate. While the ride is a little rougher, IMO, it's not a problem.

Hey John, I'm running 400/290 rate springs with the Konis. It is definitely more abrupt in city driving, but it is certainly tolerable. I wouldn't worry about it at all if your car isn't a daily driver.

Thanks for the input!

I am currently running the Race springs, and I have absolutely no issues while driving on the street. Other than a huge pothole, the car still remains comfortable. I recommend them to anyone. They also significantly decrease body roll, which is always a good thing ;)
