How to adjust camber at the track?
Noob question
I've read how to read tire temps so that you know which direction to adjust your camber settings between sessions at the track, and I've read in the service manual how camber is adjusted during an alignment My question is, how do you adjust the camber settings (at the track) without affecting your caster/toe settings at the same time? Also, how much of an adjustment do you typically make each time? I assume there's some common rule-of-thumb that I'm not aware of, given how many people track their FDs on R-compounds (I've got a 93 with R6s) Otherwise everyone must have caster/camber gauges at the track, and find a perfectly flat surface between sessions? :scratch: Thanks! |
our track has flat pads to do alignments on. once you get used to it its pretty quick to set camber and then toe.

Do you just disregard caster at that point, as caster changes don't have as much impact?
Do you use Longacre gear, or what? |

Do you use Longacre gear, or what? at the track we ignore castor, although i think we do have the tool to measure it. we do use the longacre stuff, but once you're really familiar with the process you can use other things, for instance my Tr3 has the wire wheel knockoff in the way of the toeplate, so i used 2x4's instead. or my friends FC i used my phone for camber, and old cabinet doors for toe plates |
i should also say if you have the toe set, and make equal changes side to side, its quite easy. although it will take a little practice
