HOLY CRAP...I've got a HUGE GRINDING noise in the back left!!!

Man..this thing just started happening today on the way back from getting a salad.

I came down off this little bump..and all of a sudden I hear GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNND from the back left wheelwell.

I just had new springs and struts installed two weeks ago, and had an alignment done on last monday.

What the heck could it be? It's HORRIBLE sounding...

It's never happened before this...and my Koni Struts are set to the highest perch, too!

Any ideas? Could the alignment have screwed something up?

Jeez..I need to get it up on a lift to see what's up..but the Auto Hobby shop isn't open till tomorrow! :(

Have you replaced your brake pads recently? Could be a shim........

Yepz..but that was like a month ago..and haven't had a problem yet...I don't see how that could just "happen"

It only happens on bumps...it's gotta be something in my suspension. :(

FOUND OUT WHAT IT WAS...

Apparently...a part of the plastic frame that covers the "brake lines"? or cabling underneath the car, had cracked, and a 6 inch strip of it was dragging under the car.

Whenever I'd come to a bump, such as a speed bump or pothole, the car would be low enough for the plastic to grate underneath the car.

The reverbations in the metal and plastic made it sound much worse than it actually was.

I clipped it off, and it's all good now. :D

I never noticed it...because I never looked under the car..I was only concentrating on the suspension. :dunce:

If you ran over something, you may have some more damaged stuff underneath. Probably a good time to put the car on a lift and take a good look at the covers, lines, etc., under there.

Around L.A. we have lots of old couches, pallets, mattresses, etc., strewn about the freeways :)

Welps..that's kinda how I found it. :shot2:

I think Les Scwhab f'ed up and put the car on the wrong jack points.
