Help Mr. Mahtab pick a new suspension..
 

After all the long years, Mr.Mahtab need a new suspension. Seeing he has a '93 R1 with stock shocks, he was looking at Koni Yellows, cause he heard somewhere they was reliable and the R1 springs are supposed to be ample. Mahtab doesnt track his RX but he kicks the the crap out of the Oakville Grade and the 101. He can spend 500 to 1500.

Damn dude, you're still around? My dad and I just installed Tokicos and Susp Specialties springs (rx7.com sells em) on his R1 and he really likes them, *huge* improvement over stock. If you want to go the coilover route for a grand you might be able to pick up something used. Or, save some cash and get some new coilovers.....i love my tanabes :).

I would also recommend the Tokico 5-Way Adjustables. I would pair them with the RS-R Down Springs. The down springs have a good "advertised" drop, not too low but very good with very good spring rates for everyday driving as well as spirited driving.

I still prefer Konis over Tokicos. I feel the build quality of the Koni is better but even if you don't believe that the Koni has adjustable spring perches and the Tokico does not. You can keep your stock springs and yet still lower the car if you use the Konis.

I went with Howards recommendation, stock touring shocks and Eibach's.

Also put on solid toe links(mine were shot), solid front stay bar links(shot again), new upper shock mounts and lower spring seats. Plus a stay bar brace for the front.

We'll see how it goes next weekend and I'll let everyone know.

I picked up the stock touring shocks at a decent price and its almost the end of the season here in Michigan, I'll give them a try over my R1 shocks and if I'm not happy then I can get what I paid for them and goto Koni's.
