Generic Brake Rotors

I am going to be upgrading to some SS brake lines, HP+ pads and some high performance brake fluid. I still have the stock 16" rim on my FD so I cannot go with a larger brake rotor; still, mine need to be replaced.

I can get all 4 rotors for $180 (generic). Will these wear the same as OEM discs or should I look for an alternative?

I've never heard of generic plain rotors being noticably inferior to any of the more expensive options. Heck, even if they wear out twice as fast, they're so much cheaper that it's STILL cheaper overall.

you run the risk of them warping.
i've had bad experiance with cheap rotors (on an MR2), so it may be worth it to get some brembo blanks. they dont cost too much
turning the rotors every time they warp gets old.

i used to worry about that as well, so i've always bought brembo blanks. they are cheap as hell

then i met someone who runs autozone generic rotors with some ridiculous cobalt or something doesn't-bite-until-its-really-freaking-hot-race-pads for hpde. swapped em every few events, never had one crack or anything on him. if they can hold up to that i'm sure they are fine for daily and occasional autocross or what not

my guess is there's really no difference between the rotors

I've run cheap generic rotors on track for a while now, no problems. MANY, many, many Miatas get raced and tracked on NAPA rotors with great success.

Warped rotors are from uneven pad deposits, not the rotor warping.

Brembo blanks are only like $68...I've ordered from this site before for my old s13 and they're cool...
I personally ended up with powerslot rotors on my Fc from:

All depends on what you want..go for the brembo blanks if you want to save money. They're not too much and they work just as good if not better than oem.

$68/ea isn't necessarily that good. I can get a full set of FC rotors for about $100.

I run NAPA cheapo's and have had better luck on the track with them than the stock rotors. Not to mention they are about $65 a pair so it takes 2+pairs to equal one set of Brembos.

A full set (all four) of stock FD rotors made by Centric can be had from Tri-Point for about $100. I track the car with these and they work fine.

Price Centrics at Tripoint before you buy!

The cheapest prices are often found at your local parts store, and there's no shipping costs.

I know tons of people who track their cars on blanks from the local parts store. I have never heard any of them complain.

i have NAPA rotors on my car. i don't know if they are the cheapest ones you can get, but they weren't very expensive.
i use them on the street and a bunch of autocross days each summer. no problems with them.

O'Reillys matched Advance Auto Parts deal of $68 for a pair of front FD rotors. They are Wagner's made in Italy for Federal Mogul.

Last HPDE @ Roebling Road with Hawk HT-10's, no problems braking from 148-150 MPH to about 80-85 MPH.
