Fikse FM/10s on the way!

How long have we been working on this Rishie? Since probably August or so ... anyway, Rishie worked his butt off and got together a set of Fikse FM/10's for me. He shipped them out yesterday, so hopefully they'll arrive at the end of this week.

I got 'em with SpeedSilver finish on the spokes, and technopolish lip. For the front I got 17x8.5" with a 37.7mm offset, and a 1 inch H&R studded hubcentric spacer. For the rear I got 17x9.5" with a 37.7 mm offset.

I can't wait to see those babies! Count on pics as soon as they arrive ...

Don't ask what I paid for them. If you want to know PM Rishie and ask. I think everybody on here should buy their rims from Rishie - he did a lot of extra work to get this deal together for me.

Greg 12-04-01 11:14 AM

How much did you pay? :D

Does this guy have a website? [pst some pics of the rims butthole :o

Johnny 12-04-01 11:31 AM

Yeah Rishie is a good guy...I would have got my Fikse FM/10's from him also...but midstream I flipped a bitch and decided I liked Kinesis better...beside I got a killer deal from a old friend...not from Rishie...bit regardless Rishie is pretty cool and I didn't have the other hook up..I would have got them from Rishie...no question

Yes we need pics...!!!!

ARD T2 12-04-01 03:04 PM

The forum is my website. hehe. Actually, I'll be getting a website up first quarter of next year.

There are so many places you can see pics of wheels on the net, that it's almost a waste of money for me to set up a website just for that. But if there is a wheel you like, then PM me and I'll see what I can do.

Thanks for the words Ryan and Johnny,

Rishie

I really appreciate guys like Johnny and 13Bace answering questions for guys too in this section. They do a lot of volunteer work as well and sometimes get to things before I even do.

Yes, ryan they are on their way. I shipped them out yesterday. I inspected all of the wheels as well. Both the 8.5 and 9.5 were about 19lbs. Later.

RX-7 Pilot 12-07-01 12:51 AM

How much was it?? Same price for FM5??

ARD T2 12-08-01 03:11 PM

Yes, but there is only special pricing on the 17" fitments. The 18's are like twice as much.

PM if interested.

Thanks, Rishie

BOOSTD 7 12-09-01 12:21 AM

Pictures ... as promised. First the FM/10's, and then the Brembo rotors.

The big pic is now my desktop wallpaper in 1600x1200 resolution :D

ARD T2 12-09-01 03:44 AM

Glad they got there fine. Please let me know how it all fits together.

See ya, rishie

Johnny 12-09-01 01:42 PM

Looking good Boostd7...

Shit I cant wait till I get to post picks of my k58's...

Hey Rishie...cant you get me some mcgard's ?

SleepR1 12-09-01 01:49 PM

Ryan,

Looks like your car is coming together nicely. Now we just have to work on that "nut" behind the wheel.

ARD T2 12-09-01 03:41 PM

Yeah, I can get you the McGards. I'll have to look up a price on them, and call Monday. They have several different styles. Do you want the same ones I got BOOSTD.

Later, Rishie

I can mount the tires if the wheels are loose. You'll need to put them on the car.

Thanks Manny ... my problem is the assembly of nuts under the hood. I'm STILL waiting on my engine. But I guarantee as soon as it's going, the first place I'm headed is Putnam.

phinsn98 12-10-01 09:08 AM

Welcome to the club...those pics just bring a big smile to my face. Can't wait to see them on your ride.

Later,
Dave

DamonB 12-10-01 09:27 AM

I just got a hard on. Beautiful!

BOOSTD 7 12-10-01 02:09 PM

Thanks for the compliments guys ... on-car pics coming soon.

phinsn98 12-11-01 07:47 PM

Boosted is seems the only reason I am logging on here is to see the wheels:D Come on where are the pics.

I think your car looks just fine with the stock wheels. Stock is always the way to go with everything. Then you can give me those beautiful, umm, I mean adequate, wheels.

maxcooper 12-12-01 05:05 AM

Hey, those Fikses look great!

I am another satisfied customer of Rishie's. I got some Volk SE37Ks from him and he handled everything very well, including getting me the center caps I wanted, hub rings, & lugs. And all for a very good price.

Go Rishie, go Rishie... you da man.

ARD T2 12-12-01 03:27 PM

Thanks again for your kind words; (As I take a bow) hehe.

I try my best and it can be a real bitch sometimes, but my objective is for everything to be gravy on your end, and let me deal with all the bullshit. I try to be in touch with my peeps even during the waiting process to ensure that they have made a good economical decision and that patience is always a virtue and pretty much necessary when owning an FC or D. Shit just always takes longer than expected.

Thanks again,

Rishie

I'm gonna start throwing a tantrum if I can't see them on the car soon. Just put a couple hundered pounds of sandbags in the engine bay where the motor should be, at least then you can achieve the proper stance. LOL. hehe. Otherwise it'll look like you got switches and pumps in that thing, lowrider style, two wheel motion. hehe.

First T2 with FM10s

I have to ride on your coat tail here. These are the best looking rims made. The kenisis are cool but something about FM10s on the right car. Come on let us see what it looks like. Maybe I'll go wider after I see what it looks like.

Dave

BOOSTD 7 12-13-01 04:17 AM

Well, I'm thinking I might wait a bit to put tires on the rims ... the car's obviously not going anywhere till Spring. I was going to buy a set of used Hoosier RS tires from www.racetire.com - unless somebody is willing to buy me tires so they can see pics of them on the car :D

Unfortunately they only have 245/40-17's used ... but for $50 each I can't resist. I'll burn off a set or two of those before I shell out the big bucks for new 255's front and 275's rear.

maxcooper 12-13-01 04:41 AM

Hoosiers on the street or track? They aren't suitable for street use. They aren't durable enough to handle all the crap you run over on the street. From experience, I can tell you BFG g-force R1s tend to lose chunks of rubber from the tread area if used on the street, and I suspect that Hoosiers would be even more prone to such damage.

-Max

SleepR1 12-16-01 08:11 PM

Ryan,

Max is right. Hoosier expressly forbids anyone to use their DOT racing tires for the street. Hoosier's not fooling anyone. They don't call R3S03s "cheater slicks" for nothing.

I ran my new stickered Hoosiers yesterday at Putnam Park. It took only 1 session to burn off the stickers, and 3 sessions to wear away the faint grooves the tires come with. All that's left are the 2 inner grooves. The rest is slick.

You're better off putting street tires on the Fikse if street duty is what the Fikse will see...

Dave

wow, those rims look REALLY good.http://www.plauder-smilies.com/happy/xyxthumbs.gif
What sizes and offsets did you use?

phinsn98 12-16-01 09:08 PM

17x8 225 40 zr 17 in front and 17x8.5 255 40 zr 17 in back...I don't remember off hand what the offsets are. I posted them in a post that Boosted had made previous to this. He was trying to make a decision on which rims to get. I gotta hand it to him he picked out some nice ones. :D

BOOSTD 7 12-17-01 03:55 AM

 Freaks! How many times do I have to say this ... my car will not be driven on the street, ever. It's going to be a trailer queen. It's only purpose will be for me to get my jollies on a road course.

Those look really good. I'll have to decide if I want to get rid of my current rims. See what you did?

SleepR1 12-17-01 08:45 AM

Sorry, Ryan, I wasn't aware that your car would strictly be a race car. Well, I hope you get it together soon. I have grand plans for my Motorsports Driving Club racing program. I'm basically going to set up a series for the midwest that allows cars that don't fit into SCCA's rules. Your car will definitely will be one of those cars, as well as others who've completely modded out their sports cars to insane levels;)

Cool! Sounds awesome, and I know you're the man to do it Manny! SCCA rules suck ass btw, so anything that lets me race without having to deal with them is ok by me :D

FC3STT 12-21-01 12:04 AM

Hey guys

Are those Fiske's wheels the ones that are pictured on the black FC the ones that were pictured in a earlier post without the rubber. If so are these the ones that are 17x8.5 37.7 mm offset, 17x9.5 37.7 mm offset.

Chris Y.

ARD T2 12-21-01 02:40 AM

Depending on why you are asking, Ryan had to use special offsets because he has the Mariah front fenders.

IF you have an FC with the standard body, you should get the 17,8 and 17,9.5. Both of these should have the 37.7mm offset.

The black GTR is not the same width as Ryan's. So if you like Ryan's sizes and think it will look like phisn's it won't. It will look just as good if not better, as wider wheels were used for Ryan.

Either way you can 't go wrong with a FIKSE. You could run 8.5 if you got coilovers and trimmed the fender, but I still think you would be limited on the usable tire size anyways.

See ya, Rishie

phinsn98 12-21-01 06:13 AM

Oh Rishie and I thought you were my buddy;) The black car has the same wheels but Boosted went wider then I was willing to go. My back wheel is just inside the fender well. They explained to me that if I were to go wider I would have to roll the fenders which I was not willing to do. But no matter what you do they are in my opinion the best looking wheels on the market.

Later,

DB

FC3STT 12-21-01 03:36 PM

Rishie

So what does it take to order these wheels from you, but not the size Ryan has. I would go the 17x8 front and 17x9.5 rear setup.
What kind of price am I looking at?

Chris Y.

Rx-7Addict 12-24-01 11:11 PM

:mspank:

those are some of the nicest rims ive ever seen.

Let see pics of them mounted on your car! I'll get the tissues ready
