Sorry that I didn't test the link in the referenced post..
Yes, the GAB super R's (red coil overs) were highly regarded and expensive... They were sold by M2 and by Mazda Motorsports (now Mazdaspeed). http://www.mazdamotorsports.com/pdfs...Suspension.pdf http://www.modified.com/projectcars/...t_9/index.html form an old post -- by the sage Max Cooper - I don't know any place that can rebuild the GAB superR shocks, but I haven't really looked, either. In my years of avid list and forum readership, I have never heard of anyone getting them rebuilt, however. It might be more cost effective just to replace them. GAB doesn't make them anymore, except in big pre-purchased blocks from what I understand. I'll probably try some "real" coil-overs when mine wear out, or perhaps before if I decide to make a switch for other reasons. There seem to be a number of good options for shocks at this point. JIC, TEIN, Konis (from Tri-Point or Tru-Choice, etc.), Penskes, etc. are all available. -Max |
oh i know there are quite a few options out there now. it was really just an effort to restore this car to how it was in the 90's.
thank you for that info. the mazdamotorsports link is cool |
