Fd rims on Fc

I got a question... Im buying some blitz z1's from someone who had them on an fd... I always liked these rims and now I have a good chance of owning them... Although he pointed out a good question.. Will they fit on my car... I have a vert and his rear offset is +22. I just want to make sure it fits before I buy these pretty expensive wheels...

We also need the width.
Judging from the offset, it sounds at least like a 9" wide or wider wheel you're talking about.

MARTIN 05-28-04 05:18 PM

it will not fit unless your FC has a widebody conversion

MARTIN 05-28-04 11:06 PM

will not fit in what way ???

It won't physical fit in the stock fender wells, either front or rear.
Unless you're the type that would try and stretch a 255 wide tire on a 10" wide rim...

What if I roll out the fenders??? I know turboIIrudeboy has some wide tires in the back, that stick out a bit, I want to know what his offset and size is.... O and the front arent the same offset.. Im more worried about the back than the front..

Compared to a stock 16x7 +40 wheel, an 18x10 +22 is going to stick out about 2 1/8 inches. You'll probably have to pull the rear fenders out to cover. You might be able to get away with just rolling the fenders and some negative camber, but you'll be limited on the tire size.

You cannot roll the rear fenders.
If you figure out how to do that, please tell me too!

Why not? Is it too thick? I haven't tried yet, but looking at it it looks possible. A heat gun and a hammer should do the job.

Thanks, I already figured that out by how it fits on the fd... it sticks out like about an inch, or 1/2 inch... I had 18x10's when I bought the car but didnt know what the offset was.... and it fit awesome... I have the gxl stockers and it tucks in the back... Thanks though I was planning maybe to get some bodywork in the back to widen the rear out a bit and purchasing some front fenders...

The stock FC rear fenders are double wall, and not the thin stuff that the front fender is made out of.  basically, you're going to have to cut and weld the flare in pieces to do it right - this is the only way I know how, so if you got an alternate EASIER method, please share!

ted you know of any wide kits that arent that ricy looking and actually widen the back a little but in a clean way??? Im not looking to run 14" wide rims in the back so the mariah kit is outta the question... I just want something thats a little wider and can compliment the corksport front fenders...
