Here's what FA answered me:
I went over this with our engineers as well. The peeling of the shock tower is not associated with the coilover, its most likely from the age of the chassis.

Which I think is not correct. My FD is rock solid and the FD chassis is known to be stiff. It never happened when I had my stiffer Apexi N1 evolution coilovers. I need to do a follow with them, didn't had time.

FYI I used the stock transparent plastic between the coilover and the shock tower when I installed them.

Hit a bump going fast and this can separate a good shock from a poor shock. the low speed stuff is all relatively close, when the shock velocity kicks up is when the shock gets tested.

Does the car skip/jump/absorb a high speed bump? Most of the shocks I have been in don't "soak" it up as a really plush soft, great suspension set up would do. Its typically really harsh and skips or jumps over bumps.

I want to know more about how you managed to make the fronts fit...I got the total thickness to be 50.08mm and the space that it's supposed to fit into on the lower control arm is 48.73mm. Not sure how comfortable I am trying to bend my LCA's 1.35mm to make it fit..

I have ksport coilovers on my fd. One of the lower mount on them did exactly like yours. I used a bench grinder to grind down a little on the coilover. fits perfect now

Don't do that!!

In your fourth pic the spacers/washers in the LCA move inside the LCA. With a bolt, nut, washers and a big socket you'll be able to push it to the outside then your coilover should fit perfectly without any hacking.

You don't need to bend the LCAs, just use a C-Clamp or some other creative method to slide that insert outward. When the bolt is tightened it reduces the gap again.

saw your post on fortune 500 coilovers and wanted to know if your still running them and if so have your opinion changed. Also waht spring rate are you using.

I was going to get Ohlins but because of this review I bit the bullet and bought my set. I'll have to start a new thread for my review once I install them to see how they are in northern California roads. I went with the same spring rates 10kg/8kg on FA springs. They look like they're good quality.

I know it’s an old post(2013) and saw you had an FC. What coil overs did you end up with?

looking to get these with the swift spring upgrade, apparently the swift springs feel softer for a given spring rate so thinking of upping the rates to 11k/9k. this will be for a majority quick street set up
