Falken Ziex tires?
 

I went to autox last sunday and i talked to a pro and he was telling me how good falken azenas are. Well I was trying to find them and today i stopped by les schwab and they said that they got falken ziex and that is the same thing. For the size 205 60 15 they want $62 per tire cuz they are on sale right now. I was wondering if thats that same tire thats great for traction.

No, they are different. Very different. Be wary of a shop that would steer you that wrong. Use them for their services, but do your own research (as you did in this case). Fortunately, the Azenis Sports are about the same price.

The Azenis Sports are great, by the way. I've got them on my daily driver and they make a normally blah car pretty fun to drive. They are noisy and aren't that great in the rain, but they stick like glue and don't cost too much.

I just checked on discount tire direct and they dont only have 205/50R-15 85V B for my 15" rims. My stock tire size is 205/60R-15 so wouldnt that be too low to get those? Is there a place where I can get the size i am looking for or do they only come in that size for 15" rims? Any suggestions?

I think ill jsut go ahead and buy 16" rims and then get 205/55R 16 for them... these will be on my daily driver... do you think its fine? How do they do in the rain? and hows the wear?

They have very limited sizes. It's been raining here and i'm a less comfortable with them in the rain then my Yoko' A032R's in the rear. I paid $110ea for 225/45-17. Definately a summer UHP tire. That shop just wanted to sell you what he had in stock. They do not deserve your money nor your business, go elsewhere.

Ziex's are the WORST "performance" tire I've ever tried. They make me not want to try Azenis even after all the good things I've heard about them..

Rain = even with good rain tires (S0-3's, T1-S') no one bags their car in the rain, so if you take it easy & avoid puddles/still water, Azenis' will be fine

Wear = if you drive nice & easy and use it as a daily tire, should be able to get 18,000miles out of them
but that is about the maximum they will ever go

which Ziex's were they selling? the old ZE502 or the just released ZE512?

I just installed a set of ZE512's on my Protege. So far they have performed very well. Almost no hydroplaning when running over water puddles. Traction is also excellent so far (though I haven't really pushed the tires yet... breaking them in slowly)

But I wouldn't autox in these tires though.... go with Azenis for that :)

ive got 225 50 16 ze502's they handle greatin the the dry but on some surfaces in the when my car comes on boost the back comes out:D
