Falken Tires?

Hey guys i was just curious if Falken Tires are any good or not. I have a good price on them but have no experience with them. Any help would be appreciated.

my falken 451's have held up well imo. Enough stick for me and i even drove in snow for 2 1/2 weeks with no problem as long as i kept it in vaccuum.

is $140 for 4 brand new worth it?

Wankelguy 05-05-03 08:03 PM

That's a decent price, depending on the model. The Falkens have fairly stiff sidewalls, which I like.

the FK 451's are probably the best "street" tire for the money.....They take a bit to warm up but hang with the best of the street tires.... I've had everything and there worth the money...Don't know anything about the other models though...However my buddy has the Azeni's or something like that and they didn't last on his WRX

I might be gettin some Falkens for my project Festiva after I get some Mazda 323 alloys from a junkyard. They'll be 175/60/13s and, with the 13" alloy wheels, should make for very little unsprung weight.

Only Falken that are better dry traction then S03 are the Azenis.

They grab just under the A032r in the dry.

The Azenis are great. I use them as daily drivers. At a 200 treadwear rating don't expect them to last long. They are sticky enough to pick up loose gravel and sand in the parking lots!!

Just keep it under 65mph in the rain and you will be fine.

The Azenis start in a 14" size and go to 17". Sorry, no 13's.

I'm running the 451's and am very happy.

The last street tires I bought were $270 a piece, the Falken's are just as good and alot cheaper and last alot longer. I will use these tires from now on, on both my cars.

The Azenis are drag radials so I wouldn't compare them to street tires.

who told you that? if i do recall correctly, my azenis sports had really fuggin stiff sidewalls to be drag radials. they can be driven on the street, and do well in the wet. i drove my neon for a year (doesn't have the traction issues, however, as it's an underpowered pig) on these tires with no problems, and damn did they transform that car. just keep 'em out of snow and ice and you'll be ok. but then again, almost none of the previous tires mentioned should be used in that environment anyway. once the azenis get warm, however, they seem to lose some grip. but, they're perfect for autox because of the brevity of a run.

Gsrsol, Did you get your 451's in DFW area or did you mail order?

Rx-7Addict 05-06-03 11:35 PM

I'm getting some Azenis sports. I have researched quite a bit. looked at the Pirelli Pzero, Bridgestone S03, Falken Azenis sport, Kumho supras etc and Im going with the Falkens.

They are reasonably priced and grip great. I'll keep you updated

Kuhrazy7 05-07-03 02:43 AM
