which falken tire is best out of these?
 

Im looking for all around performance.Mostly dry and rainy conditions.Mainly because the fd 7 handles like ass in the snow.Im currently running falken ziex 502 tires right now.Theres also Falken ziex 512's and also Azenis st 115.Which tire is better than the others? The descriptions all sound the same so im very confused as to which of these is actually going to be a better tire as far as grip and performance.A less bumpy ride would also be nice.Feel free to also recommend other tires that perform as well or better for the price that falkens would run me.
Im also looking at getting some 5zigne fn01r-c rims in 17's and would like to know which tire is the lightest in order to get the best weight with the rim/tire combo.Thanx fellas.

I'm running the Falken 451 and I'm really happy with them. They seem to ware decent even after a few track events and the dry traction is great. I haven't had two much experience with them in the wet because I don't see much rain here in Phx though they do have some pretty serious siping for rain so I'd imagine that they'd do well.

I too had the Fk451's and there awesome for the money..probably the best street tire for the cash I've had yet... It rained here today and I got stuck in it with the RX-7 for the first time in 3 years :) (rain) and I can't recommend P-zero's in the wet......Woah!

I use the Azenis sport. Dry/wet traction is tremendous.

all of those tires will suck in the snow. really u should get a second set of snow tires if u plan on driving in the snow. even all seasons wont cut it in moderate snow. i really wouldnt put all seasons on an FD. a wet/dry is ok, but all season probably not, better to go with 2 sets of wheels.

I wouldnt drive an FD in the snow ;) Youd have hella balls too

I dont exactly go out driving in the snow.Its usually one of those days where its cold and clear and then out of nowhere it starts to snow.Good old colorado.
I have driven in the snow on many occasions and its friggin nerve wrecking.
I talked to the falken guys when they came to colorado springs for the drift showoff and they recommended the falken ziex 512's.How are the azenis as far as price goes?

I've had both Ziex's (502 and 512s i think they are?). Both are excellent rain tires, and very good dry tires.

The Azenis are simply auto-x tires. That's why they don't come in larger sizes.

If you have nice wheels, want incredible dry traction, and excellent wet traction, run the FK-451s. That's what I have now. 245/35/18s in the fronts (one of the few companies that make that size), and 285/30/18s in the rear.

When I went on the road course at Rotary Revolution, the professional driver riding shotgun w/ me was surprised...he was like "yea the other FDs I had on the track were slipping and sliding all over the track at speeds you're taking the turns at. You must have some really sticky and wide tires on..." And that was my very 1st road course as well...

To echo what other ppl said, Falkens are literally IMO the best tire for the dollar. They are much better than Dunlops and what not, have incredible treadlife compared to Pirellis, and are good for dry and wet conditions, all at practically half the price of other tires.

For price, do yourself a favor and buy falkens ONLY from this site...they're the cheapest I've found, period. www.vulcantire.com

I love my FK-451's. They seem to be the best tire for the money in that class. They stick really well at the track and wear is quite good considering. I'd reccomend them.

Falken Azenis Sports are the most popular Falkens amongst autox/track racers

they are the stickiest (some refer to them as street legal Rcompound) and have the stiffest sidewalls.
A tire designed with pure performance in mind (I'll be safe and say DRY performance)

That's not what I meant. I meant you don't need a office for reception, display area for customers, etc...everything comes in through the internet, minimal phone operation...you just have people to process and carry out the orders.

At least that's the impression I get...that things are streamlined that way...

i have a set of falken 512s on the toyota solara. i have to say for the price i paid (ebay, lol) these are excellent tires. however the camry cant exactly push them to the limits. they have very good grip, but i fear that the tread may wear a bit fast. my brother had some azenis on his old del sol. i never got a chance to 'test' them, but they seemed a bit noisy.

Ive got FK451s as well.
Very good street tire,but no noise.I wish they would squeal a bit so I could gauge my traction limits by ear a little better.Havent used em in the rain yet,but they are AA rated which means excellent wet weather traction.

Not that this is a smart thing to do...so I'm definitely not bragging...but you might find it comforting that I was doing 85mph in a horrible storm and VERY heavy rain, coming back from Wilmington, DE to DC.

I was real tired...and I needed to get back soon. The only reason it was possible was my windshield has rain-x, so the rain just flies off...no wipers necessary lol...and the FK-451s have INCREDIBLE traction. I think I felt a *slight* hydroplane ONCE when I hit a deep puddle, but other than that...they held up incredibly.

the sidewalls are almost too stiff to drive around other than auto-x or track...

Uh, no it doesn't.
It's a spec wet BRAKING performance rating.
It really isn't applicable to wet performance HANDLING or resistance to hydroplaning.
