evo 5 brembos on a fd?
 

my brother had a bit of a crash in his evo and i can get the brakes of it for feck all. is there any bracket kits ya can buy to get these to fit??
id want fron and back on if posible?

Why?

FD brakes are more than adequate. I've run my 360bhp car around the nurburgring on mintex xtreme pads and got no fade.

If your going to get better brakes, go with APs or similar. I've just put a set of APs on mine and they rock.

the evo brakes run a much bigger disk. bigger pads. and this is what im loking for

im currenty runnin mintex extrem all round with black diamond disks. and there not up to it out on track. far to much fad on it. id prefare bigger disk and caliper so they dont get worked asmuch. witch means i can run a colder pad and get the same results.

and the nurberg ring isnt that hard on the brakes as there huge straights to let them cool. what sort of time where you doing at the ring? you might not have been that hard on the breakes

Short answer? No.

The EVO brakes are engineered for the EVO. For the front, you'd need at the minimum a custom bracket to mount the caliper to the hub carrier, and a custom rotor hat to mount the rotor to the hub at the proper centerlne, and likely some sort of custom brake line.

At the rear, since the EVO brakes use an integrated drum brake for the parking brake, you need to do everything you did for the front, plus engineer some sort of integration of the drum, or eliminate it and fab up your own e-brake.

after all that., you'll have no idea whether the pistion sizes front and rear are matched well to the car, ballanced with each other, or the master cylinder.

Good front brake kits can be had for the FD for $1700... you can do a '99 brake or Mandeville big rotor upgrade for less ($1,000 to $1,200), not to mention pick up used BBK's for less. Grafting on factory brakes from another car is likely a false economy, unless you've got alot of parience, skill, and access to quality custom machining and fitting.

well not so bad evo7.5 and up brakes fit on fd's and fc's they bolt str8 up but you have to use your original rotor.i just bought some aftermarket slotted rotors and i'm using my evo8 front calipers .the rear is a flat out no.most if not all brembos have no parking brake in the rear caliper. the rear your on your own but there are rear bbk for fd's so it should'nt be too hard to find one.

Is your brother that guy who crashed going 100 mph on a turn with passengers in his car?
