Enkei RPF1's 17x8.5 All 4's Has anyone ever done this setup?

After doing weeks and days of searching and asking I think I finally settled on the sizes I want to run. Originally I wanted 17's then I wanted the 18's for better feel. I went back and forth for days, but the 17's won. I'll be using these for Autocross and track days. I know that this may not be the most ideal setup but I think it will suit my needs.

Sizes:
17x8.5 +40 Fronts 255/40
17x8.5 +38 Rears 255/40

My reasons:
-Tire Prices (I'll save over $400 on tires)
-Stoptech fitment (Any wider seems to not fit)
-Square Setup (Better feel)
-No rubbing (I'll Roll front fenders)

I'm curious if any else has ever run this setup.

I would run atleast a 17x9 +45MM front and rear and if you want to be more aggressive I would run a 17x9.5 +38MM with 245 width tires, and if you want really aggressive I would run a 17x10 +38MM with 255 width tires.

The aggressive fitments need the front fender lips rolled.

I suggest running the widest wheel you can and sticking the same tire you chose on it.

I am running 265's on 10" wide wheels with a slight stretch (18's, because the tires I purchased were priced well ($600/set of new XS, and $700 shipped for RE-11's new). I would also run a 255 width on a 10" wide wheel.

I have the RPF1's in 17x9 +45 front and rear and fitment is great! Running 255 all around.

That sounds like a nice setup. Do you autocross/track your 7, and do you have any pictures?

I run 17x10 with a +35 offset. 17x9 would have no issue.

17x9 +45 w/ 245/40's all around. A bit sunk to be honest, but the 17x9 +45's are the lightest 17" rpf1's at 15.XXlbs.

Just by looking at my setup a 17x9.5 +38 or even a 17x10 +38 like someone mentioned earlier should be no problem

I would choose the tire that you want to run first and then choose the wheel.

I think a 17x9.5" with a 245/40/17 is good and if you want to run a 255/40/17 get the 17x10".

The 245/40/17 is a 24.7" diameter and the 255/40/17 is a 25 to 25.1" diameter. stock is 24.8" or so.

Depends on what tires you go with. The AD08 tires run wide and so does the A048's. You could have a better tire OD in a 245/40/17 and also run more tread on the ground with this size than other 255/40/17 tires.

I also think the 245/40/17 with the shorter sidewall looks great on a 17" wheel.
