EBC Green Stuff pads + shims?

I'm replacing the front pads on my 95R2 with the GreenStuff pads and having a hard time pushing the pistons all the way back. I could slide the new pads without using the old shims. Am i doing something stupid by not using the shims? Please help

TIA

Many pads come with the shims attached, they are not always as bulky as the stock shims though. I bought some Hawk HPS and it had shims attached but they were way smaller than stock....

opinion on your new brake pads

Hey 95R, how's your brake job coming along? I am about to do a brake job soon so I would like to know how you like your EBC Greens? I am planning on either getting the Green or some Hawk HPS.

How much were the Greens and where did you get yours? Are they noisy at all? Did you end up just tossing the stock shims?

Thanks for your help!!

I was able to push the pistons back enough to use all the shims. What i did was using a big bolt and cut it to the width of the distance between the pads. I screwed in the nut, slided the nut and bolt in between the pad and started to back out the nut. This will push the pads outward. You may need to add some spacers to fill the gap.

I got my pads from brakeco.com. They shipped mine pretty quickly. I think that they were about 60 - 70 bucks. They are very quiet.
