Drift wheels?

I'm shopping around for new wheels for my 93 FD, and since I'm trying to get it set up for drifting, I was wondering: does drifting put any extra strain on the wheels? I know it tears through tires like there's no tomorrow.

I've been looking at either some white Gram Lights cast or white 5zigen FN01R forged. Forged GL's are out of the question, since for some odd reason Ray's doesn't offer them in white.

Would the forged be safer for drifting?

And has anybody had any experience with either of these wheels?

Thanks!

for drifting?

are you good? otherwise get something farking cheap, not expensive stuff that you might bend...

Stick with stock wheels. Get some extras so you can rotate through a stockpile of pre-mounted tires.

I fancy myself pretty good, but not like some of the guys in Japan.

I like the idea of using the stock wheels and just having crap tires pre-mounted on spare sets for serious drifting practices; but I will be driving this car around town, not just drifting, and I want it to look, well, "bling bling."

So would I be better off to go with whichever is cheapest, whether they're forged or not?

well, even it it's forged, it's still gonna be screwed when you hit a curb... Stronger yeah, but not that strong...

in my opion, but something that you like the looks of and are easy to replace. (not a custom fitment or shipped from JApan etc etc) so when you do have to replace one, you can get one fast..
