Do not buy rims off of these guys on ebay or their website

Sup guys,

I just want all to know that you should not buy rims from this Ebay seller

HAUSOFIMPORTS

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT

Yes the rims were used
Yes the pictures were posted.
I emailed and asked for further photos of any damage on the rims b/c the pictures were glarry off of the polished lips these rims have.
He emailed me back and said the rims have some scratches, but nothing that could not be polished out. He gave me a link to the same pictures posted on Ebay as they were on his website also.

Got the rims in a timely fashion. Opened them up and every single rim has damage on them.
The insides of three of them have extensive curb rash.
3 of the 4 have curb rash down almost a 1/4 of the rim. Gashes and deep scraps on all outer lips.

The seller will do nothing for me and his website has no contact numbers to call.

The set of rims I baught retail for around $2100 and up. I thought 1500 was a great deal. To get the rims repaired will cost $200 a peice because they are forged alluminum with a clearcoated polished lip. not such a good deal anymore huh?

I thought they looked professional, I guess not

Don't buy rims from HausofImports.com
They post wrong pictures and say rims have minor scratches when they have clearly been curb checked pretty badly!!

i feel sorry for you but i guess it did say "what you see is what you get"
that pretty much waves responsibility on his part in eBay's terms

Let me get this straight. You KNEW that there was pre-existing damage to the wheels and was told by the seller that the scratches could be polished out and you bought them anyway?

And now you find out that it will cost $200 a wheel to refinish and it's the seller's fault?

Please...sounds like sour grapes to me. :pity:

rBERNY 10-03-04 03:20 AM

you must be a punk seller also.

Did you not read, he said minor sratches, not frickin curb rash and gash down over a 1/4 of 3 wheels lips. The insides of the rims are even damaged.

Its not even human to say its all my fault and I deserve to pay 1500 for a set of rims that are road rashed.

If the scratches were minor, i wouldn't have to get them repaired.

I advise that anyone else reading this thread not buy from the above person "Speedking" or hausofimports. Its cold hearted people like this who screw people over without a second thought who reply to such a thread and say you got what you deserved and quit your whinning.

I got a big "nlm" for you "speedking"

Letting the community know about these people is a favor and you should be thankfull. It appeared to me that this seller is one of very few people we JDM car owners can get JDM rims from off of ebay. Many people looking for rims have probably thought about buying from this person in the past and might in the future.

You all should now that another month or whatever it takes to save another $600 in my case to get new rims, it will be worth your while.

Have a good one and happy purchasing.

WOW

You Rx7 owners suck A*S, no remorse

I'm glad a baught a MR2 instead of an FD

Sir, please don't think this way of RX7 owners. We are simply pointing out the "flags" that one might have seen with this seller. We do realize you feel you were slightly misled but nonetheless, used goods on ebay, very high quality wheel. Um I don't know.

FYI, to make things worse. We are importer for Work Wheels to USA. hehe. I could have got these wheels for you brand new for about: $1800.00 brand new and in the correct offset for your SW20.

I have built up the footwork tuning on many many MR2's and i wanted to let you know that you will definitely need spacers if you ever choose to go with coilovers. I am an RX7 owner and am glad to help you and do appreciate that you are willing to inform people of your poor dealings with vendors.

If you were misled then I think the fair thing would be to pay and ship them back and have your money refunded. Or submit a claim to the shipping company. for the MR2 i wouldn't suggest an 8" up front as you're limited by your tire width anyways.

Here's one I have done, there are several others roaming around but must find pics:
