Do NOT buy polycarbonate hub rings!!!

I really wish I had pictures to show everyone but unfortunately I don't. I work at sears, and a customer came in today who had after market rims installed and polycarbonate hub centric rings. When the mechanic removed the rims, he noticed that two of the plastic hub rings were cracked and brittle. He also said that the other two rings were not as bad, but all 4 rings were brittle and falling apart. I believe him, because I saw it for myself. We have to inform the customer that there may be vibrations because of that.

That shocked me, because I am gonna be installing after market rims myself and I actually bought the polycarbonate hub rings thinking they'd be fine, but I haven't installed them yet. After seeing that the plastic rings ARE a maintenance item, I decided not to use them even though they haven't been installed, and are still new. I'm DEFINITELY gonna use aluminum hub rings and toss out the plastic junk.

Just wanna give everybody the warning.

if you torque the lugs with the car in the air (or at least with very little weight on the tire) there wont be any issues without hubrings.

i run 285/315 v710s, with half inch slipon spacers, and its smooth as butter.

No need for hubcentric rings, the tapered lug nuts should center the wheel perfectly.

As long as you don't use an impact gun and do it with your hand in a continued star pattern until finger tight it should become lugcentric as mentioned above.

I do however have Metal Hubrings available and it's pretty much all we offer with wheels.

People who take their cars to the track or autox course really shouldn't have hubrings or centercaps for that matter. Those items should always be removed.
