DIY RPF1 center caps!

I gave the DIY route a shot and I must say I like them a lot more than actual center caps you can buy. I spent less than $15 on the whole thing. Everything was purchased at lowes and took maybe a half hour max.

I just roughed up the cap with some scotch brite, and painted them with rustoleum silver metallic wheel paint an viola! I saw this on some other forums not on this one so I figured I would spread the word!

Looks good!

I went with the acura center caps. Are these going on a FC? if so, you might have issues with the dust cap in the front.

Yeah it's going on an fc. We'll see how it goes I should be getting my new tires this week and I'll get them all mounted up.

This is just the idea I needed since mine are missing centercaps! Thanks!

Did you ever get these installed? I just looked at mine and the front has a cap that sticks out...?

Hoogey 02-20-14 08:08 PM

Yeah I tried and they don't work on the front with the dust cap there. I haven't come up with any other ideas though besides getting the actual enkei caps.

My brother and I cut up a few beer cans and inserted them into his rpf1s from behind. Turned out great and it might give you the clearance you need if you cut them to protrude a bit.

Costs 5 cents and you get to drink 4 beers.

Edit: attaching image was to small so here's a link.

The beer can idea is genius! How did you attach them?

cBigganz 02-22-14 11:23 AM

We flaired the bottom and wedged the flair between the wheel and hub. So they're just held in by friction. I can draw a diagram if my description doesn't make sense.

home depot idea, maybe. top of beer can, r u serious? LoL

misterstyx69 02-23-14 03:43 PM

If you pull the tab, does the wheel bearing grease flow out?...lol!

AH!..I get it now!..because the engine is called a KEG!
There is a Draft Tap shifter somewhere that will go with all of this too!

(boost gauge measures how much beer is left!)

cBigganz 02-23-14 04:14 PM

Haters gonna hate.

It's best not to pull the tab since you want them to keep your hubs dry and dirt free. Poke a couple holes in the bottom and chug!
