Ding dong my clunk is gone!
Finally after two years of clunking upon hard braking or acceleration I got it fixed. I ordered all new upper and lower control arm bushings. It turns out my lower left rear bushing was really bad. The uppers seemed to be in good shape but at 17 years and 90,000 miles I decided to do them too. I bought a Harbor freight 12 ton press so now I have that forvever too. While I was doing that I did the coolant hoses and P steering lines, PS pump, oil pan reseal, plugs new seat covers from leather works and the turbo vacuum lines. I just got it all aligned today and it is like a new car.
On a side note as I was waiting for the tech to finish the alignment the front desk sales guy pipes in that my radiator hose looks worn and would I like it replaced? I was busy on my phone doing a stock trade and without looking up I responded with " That would be odd since it has 7 miles on it, and I just replaced all 14 of them." That shut him up, lol. Beware out there...
