Deciding on Wheels/offsets
 

I have two sets of wheels that I have pretty much come down to deciding between but I need help picking out the best offsets for the front and rears to go with. I would like to run 235 or 245's in the front 8.5" wheel (not really sure what the best option is here so opinions would be awesome) and I would like to run 265 or 275's if they would fit on the 9.5" wheel for the rears.

The wheels I have come down to are the Enkei PF01's and the 5zigen GN+ wheels. The car has koni yellow's and eibach springs, no widebody kit, rolled fenders or any of that. I do not want to have to roll the fenders either. I do want a somewhat agressive look in the rears, not neccesarily the tires sticking out or anything but I dont want them to seem like they are hidden in the wheel well either. I do want the fronts to be pretty flush. I currently have bbs RS ii's 18x10 with a et45 offset in the rear and I love the way they look.

The available offsets for the 5Zigens
8.5 = 33 38 48
9,5 = 12 22 38 43

For the Enkei
8.5 = 30 35 48
9.5 = 15 35 45

I would assume the way the bbs rear wheels sit with the 45 offsets would be around the same as the other wheels with a 45 or 43 offset, but Im not sure how much that .5" difference on wheel size would make in the look.

The tire sizes you're lookin at sound like a FC fitment and you clearly want to run them non-stretched (applaud that) but then you threw me with the 18x10+45s mention that's all FD.

High effort fitments for the FC let you go 245/275 but you need to be precise on offset (at this point mm's mater) and expect to spend some good time rolling the fener lips. Assuming you're on coilovers I'd suggest +28 fronts and +30 rears.

A more normal FC fitment is 225/45r17 on 17x8+35 front and 255/40r17 on 17x9+35 rear.

For the FD you can go 285/30s all around on 18x10+45

Avoid big stagger if you can or your car will understeer badly.

My seven is an FD, When I mentioned the 18x10's i was talking about whats currently in the rear....

Surprised no one has a straight answer on this, are all wheels going to fit differently? I thought that the offsets where the same for all wheels... Maybe im wrong, I wouldnt be here If I knew what I was looking for...


Also, if anyone could tell me, what would be the best size tires to run for my setup? I want the 225-245's front and 275's rear. But what sidewall size should I use.... 35, 40, 50? I have no clue!!!!

235/40 front and 275/35 rear. Offset is directly related to the width of the wheel.

I'd stick with these offsets listed below:

The available offsets for the 5Zigens
8.5 = 38
9,5 = 38 43

For the Enkei
8.5 = 35
9.5 = 35 45

I run the XS on my street wheels (Fikse FM5s). They're sticky in the dry but have gotten very poor reviews in the wet. If I had to do it over again I'd go with the Dunlops. They're not too much more expensive.

Edit: for the rears, if you want to be safe it's probably best to run the offsets in the 40s out back with those 275 width tires.

Roger that, so go with the 43 offset for the 5zigens... Im pretty sure thats the wheel I want... They weigh 6lbs more per wheel than the Enkeis, but Im in love with the looks.

Those are great wheels, famous wheels even. It seems like the Enkei PF01's and the 5zigen GN+ would be a step down from those. Do you have BBS RS II on the front too ?
I agree with frijolee, 285/30s all around on 18x10+45 would be killer. That's what I would aspire to own instead of staggered (but hey it's your car, you da boss).

Yeah I have the RS ii's in the front as well. My problem is, and its in another thread in this section, that I damaged a rear wheel beyond repair and I cant find a replacement. I would love nothing more than to have a replacement wheel.

6 pounds per corner in rotating weight is a significant amount, FWIW.

I have to agree with Goodfella, 6 lbs. is significant for wheels. It took me 3 months to decide on new wheels, so I understand how hard it can be. The good news is it sounds like the 5Zigens are about the same weight as the BBS RSIIs. And you should get decent prices if you sell the three BBS's. Good luck.

Yeah, I dont want to sell the BBS wheels, since the car isnt runnin right now, I have time to kill. Im just going to keep my eyes open and pray for the best.
