Correct wheel width?

OK, after doing far too much research (and still feeling like I need to do more) I've run into a bit of a roadblock.

What is the correct wheel width for 225/45/17?

More specifically, I'm looking to pair the P-Zero Nero with the Team Dynamics Pro Race 1 or 2.

The Pro Race 1 and 2 both offer a 17x7, but the pro race 1 also comes in a 17x17.5. If I understand it correctly, I should be looking at a +40 offset for either choice....

And I'm already assuming that going 235/45/17 would be out of the question.

So should I go with 7 or 7.5 wheel width?

TIA

As far as supporting the tire, an 8" wide would be best, so I would go with the 7.5" However, I do not know what will fit on an FC, so....

7.5 is "ideal" for a 225/45/17, although you can go anywhere from 7-8.5 usually. It depends on the tire. Some 235/40/17's will fit, but it'll depend on the tire (they're not all the same actual width). For offsets you want something like a 25-35mm (see the official FC wheel fitment thread to be sure). My 17x8's are 32mm offset and with 225/45/17's they fit perfectly. 40mm offsets will almost surely rub on the suspension unless you have coilovers (smaller diameter springs).
