what is people using for 235/40/17 tires? i just started getting price quotes the wheels and tires and OMG!!!! CANADA SUX. They want like 1300 USD just for the damn wheels!
ARG! time to drive over to friendly USA with **** *** rims and tires and swap and drive back.

btw there isn't very much selection for 235/40/17. I was thinking of using Kumho MX but they don't carry that size.

The only tires are SO3, PZERO NERO, ASYM, Sp9000, pilot sport, AVS sport, V700 T1-S.

Damn it... there goes my hope for cheap tires. =( no kumho MX and no falken azensis sports gr....

Would a 17x8 with 245's work well with 30mm wider front fenders?

The club deal was around 850shipped for these wheels when we were hooking it up. That was with hardware and everything. Those wheels are beautiful.

I think you mentioned you have a NA, i would suggest the 255's at most or even 245/40 in rear. I'd still run a 225 and get 17's up front. I'd do it just so I can get the staggered fitment for the rear. 16's are harder to find staggered.

Peace, Rishie

good point... i don't have too much power, so too wide of a tire would take away from my power and be overkill on traction...

Rishie does having staggered tire sizes improve handling over having the same rims and tire on all corners?

To answer your question I would have to say it all depends on your suspension setup. If you had adjustable dampers or dialed in your spring rates or sway bars allowing you to run more meat in the rear while still retaining neutral handling then you've only helped yourself. Also depends on driver skill to a large extent and how they can use the car's controls.

On the FC, I definitely would recommend it. On the FD you can run as wide in the front as you can in the rear up to 285 so they don't have the problems we do. With our primitive suspension, lol, the staggered setup is most enjoyful for me.
