Coilover - wrong spring

I recently picked up a set of JIC coilovers for practically free. The problem is I think the fronts have the wrong springs on them. With the coilovers unloaded - off the car - the spring appears to be about a mm short so the spring is a little loose, however when its on the car that goes away.

Is this going to be a big problem?

I havent driven the car like this yet but im pretty sure the previous owner did. The car is just a street car right now, and being a vert it has more body roll than a buick on the worn stock suspension. I would really like to run these now because next week I will be doubling the power and want to keep the wheels planted as much as possible.

Its fine, if you are really worried, buy some helpers.

Did you reset and tighten up the spring preloads. This would eliminate that "slop" under droop conditions.

yea i did that and it did take the slop out but that leaves the adjustment rings 1/4 in. from the top of the strut. it just didnt seem right to me.
