Clicking sound while braking?

For the longest time I have had this annoying clicking noise coming from the rear of my car when ever I brake. It is intermittent as in it doesnt happen all the time. For example, I'll hit the brakes... and just before I come to a complete stop I hear "click" from the rear.

I dont why this happens I have never touched the brakes since Ive owned this car because the brakes were fine and are still fine, I check them regularly. I have new toe link and trailing arm Super Pro bushings in the rear, six new pillow balls, 2 new factory shock mounts new shocks and new springs and it is still there... Does anybody have any ideas?

It's always happened on my cars. Possibly the e-brake cable moving around.

I don't have a FD I have a FC and mine does it.

my does this as well, although it only happens when i press the brakes hard, still kind of similar.
have you noticed if the brakes work just as well now as before? or has the performance gone down since the clicking started?

As mentioned this is perfectly normal for an FD so don't worry about it. Yes it does accur more frequently with hard quick brake application and it's likely worse as the pads wear.

The next time one of my FDs starts doing this I'll put some lithium grease around the ebrake cable/spring etc... and make sure the rods are greased well that the bracket slides on to see if that helps.

Well the clicking sound does not affect braking at all. Its just really annoying. The brakes and ABS work fine. Thanks for the info, maby when I do my brakes I'll trying lubing up the things you guys recommended.

i have a 93 with the clicking issue also. it comes and goes, and quits with braking and e-brake braking. i have inspected and cannot find anything. everything is working fine?

Had something similar. Only heard it at low speed...slow braking and it matched how fast the tires were spinning. I changed pads and it went away. I speculated that my original OEM rotor has a little run-out and the pad was able to move just a little...making the click sound. Still using that rotor, so it may come back eventually.

i will remove the brake pad and see if anything is different in the left and right brake calibers/rotor. the sound only comes from the passenger side and sounds like i have a playing card attached to the brake to slap the spokes on the wheel like kids do on thier bicycles front forks. it drives me crazy. thank you for the info. anyone else have this issue?

Is it a clicking or Clunking sound? On mine it's more of a clunking sound and my rotary mechanic said it was the bushings!!

I changed my rear rotors and the sound went away......
