Cheap BC Racing Coilovers? eBay related.

Thoughts? BC Racing coilovers are made in Taiwan (which is basically china) and the ebay ones are made in China (which is china).

Yes, it's all crap. If you're just looking to lower the car and don't care about longevity, quality or anything else that matters, then buy a USED set of BCs. The resale value is so low it says everything you need to know about them.

Any thoughts on what I posted above, about replacing the Ebay dampers with bc racing ones?

If we're rating crap in levels from 1-10 with 10 being literal garbage...... you can replace the eBay (7) with bc (3). It's still crap but at least it's not shit. Entry level teins or fortune auto is not very much more and you get excellent quality parts. You'd even be better off buying ground control sleeves and putting them on an adjustable shock like an agx, koni yellow or illumina. There are a million better options out there than peicing together garbage.

if cost is the deciding factor as to your equipment selection then a name brand lowering spring on one of the shocks I mentioned above would total somewhere around 600 brand new for everything. It's definitely well within the range of what you're asking about doing.

The BCs are not horrible, I’ve run them before. I have Fortunes now though.

The BCs are going to be better than some hodge podged together AGX deal.

I disagree 7000%. A gc sleeve on an agx or any of the shocks I listed would be all the way better than what bc has to offer

For FD you can get a set of TEIN Flex Z for under 1k,I would trust their build quality over BC, I've been running their Street Flex with Swift springs for a few years now and they are excellent for every day street use.

I don't know if TEIN has anything for FC in their new line tho.

the nice thing about the Teins, is that you can have them rebuilt, and parts are available. i bought an old set of FC teins, and had the fronts rebuilt, and it was pretty nice. their shop is in LA

^^I wouldn't say Teins are alone in cheap shocks, being able to be rebuilt. The BC distributor here offers that service....but probably more than new replacements!

I might have more concerns about a china ebay special than simply the insert. $260 doesn't leave much manufacturing margin for quality springs and sphericals and there's been el-cheapo macpherson struts over here tear-off the upright mounting. For the sake of $400 less than the genuine article, possibly a bit penny wise and pound foolish?

I’ve ran both. If you are going to do more than cruise around the the street get the BCs or an entry level coilover.
