can I put a 18x9 rim up front?
I'm interested in putting some Volk GT-C in my FD in 18x9 all around some tire places like tire rack are telling me that I can't [ut a 18x9 up front. If Ican whatis a good size tire I'm thinking 255/35-18

With a +40 offset or higher I *THINK* it would fit. I've been doing alot of reading lately and it looks like some people are running that setup.
I just ordered 18x9.5 +50 for my car. |
I think you'll want at least a +45
|
+45 is the nominal offset. Be careful on the GT-C due to the different faces made in it. Make sure to run a Face I up front.
Let me know when you're ready so I can check stock and hook you up with the club price. Rishie |
Sounds like you're ordering the SSR Competititon. lol. Should be real nice.

yup. Should be here at the end of next week.
Whats so special about the Comps that you can run a 9.5 in the front? |

O.K.
So not many wheels come in that high of an offset huh? |
Not too many and if the offset is that high you should be weary of caliper clearance. Especially if you have a big brake kit. Good to find out Pad heights of the wheels.
Rishie Nice Avatar 93 R1, can't hold herself in now can she.lol. |
FWIW, you can put 9.5 x 17, 42-mm offset SSR Comps with 255/40-17s (Michelin Pilot Sport Cup Comps) all around with no problems (FD lowered with H&R springs, and Eibach sway bars fr/rr). That's my plan. Comps will be finished in the new hip bright "Competition Silver" due July 18th! Yes, I really, really miss R compound tires on track dammit!
