Burnout Wide body tire sizing

Hello all, I am getting the ShineAuto widebody put on my FD later on this year. I plan on running CCW's 18X9" fronts and 18X10" rears both +6 offset. I am not good at tire sizing, and was wondering what would be the ideal tire size for this. I dont want a rediculous strech, but a small strech will not hurt. Thanks

battleaxe 01-07-07 02:16 PM

235 and 255
thats a tiny stretch and still allows ur clearances

13bhavoc 01-07-07 02:49 PM

thanks alot

heres some pics of a 235/40/17 on a 17x9:

Thanks for the pics, thats not that much of a strech. I think the KS Auto car is running a 215 on a 9, wich is the insane stretch that I dont want.

apex_sideway 01-08-07 12:18 PM

. . . . why not get 18x12fr and 18x13rr :D

gnx7 01-08-07 12:27 PM

You can run 18x9 and 18x10's with stock FD body panels. 255/35/18's up front and 275/35/18's out back.

You can also run 18x10's all around (+50mm) with 285/30/18's.

With the Burnout front fenders you can run a 315/18 up front with some mods and with Petit rear flares you can run 335/30/18's out back.

18x11 front and 18x12.5" rears would be the ticket!

13bhavoc 01-08-07 02:07 PM

Im no good when It comes to wheel sizing and offsets, any idea on what offsets I would need in order to run 12 and 13" wide wheels? I was just going off of what the KS Auto car was running for width and offset.

is your friend

with running 12s in front, beside being stupid, u run into clearance issues with the suspension and fenders and inner wheel well.

this can depend on ur height though as well

depends if u want flush, or if u want normal FD owner sizing which isnt fush but fits big tires

back on topic, i run 215/45/17 on my 17x9's

if i was you id get a 225/40 or 35 for your 18s
they dont make a 225/40/17 in good tires, only nitto and some other company, all the tires are shitty so we go 215 or 235 on 9's for us drifters.

heres my 215/45 on my 9:

they look similar to the 235/40
ill be going to 215/40 when these are done
with each tire though comes a different look of stretch

ill be putting some 215/40 or 35 on my 18x9 +9s in february
ill post again when i do

hope that helps

What what what?! Stoopid?! IMAGINE THE GRIP! :D

You do realize that he's talking about putting on the widebody fenders right?

battleaxe 01-09-07 01:31 AM

no i know but i mean 12inch wide wheels is HUGE up front
lots of load on the power steering as well unless they weigh as much as a 15x7 TE37 which is like nothing.
u also have to be quite high as to not rub insesantly on the inner wheel well

i know what front wide fenders are silly pants, but with wider rims for front u have to consider ur limitations without tubbing the fenders

theres a s13 with 30mm wide fronts with a 18x10 +5 wheel and has a 235/40 on there and he still hits, its all that inner stuff that gets in the way, so running a 12 imo is just dumb

i think a 10 / 12 option is best
10s u can get you 295 tires or whatever on and ur 12s u can go retarded wide
if thats what your into

that guy there ^^ has 12s in the back and hes stretches 265, to me a 265 is retarded huge
but hey its fitment, he makes liek 400+ rwhp and drifts like a champ

we both come from the same place with wheel fitment, mine just stresses how far out u can go to get the lips to line up and your is about big rubber

but theres only so much rubber u can use without it being a deterant factor in running faster times... think of the weight of the wheel and tire combo on a 12 for FRONTS! oh my

i have wide fenders:
+20mm

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...0/DSC04207.jpg

+50mm

notice a HUGE difference?
BN Blister fo yo pockets

u can fit a submarine in them wheel wells
but ill be fittifgn a 18x10 -12 with a 215 tire hip hip horray

:( i'm not a silly pants . . . hahaha

Thanks for both inputs, but I will go with the flushed wheel look. Nice 240sx BTW, will look nice when its painted and a nice set of wheels.

gnx7 01-10-07 06:47 PM

That 240 does look "mad tight" yo! You should try to put a 225 tire on a 18x12... that would be the shiznit for the drifta in you!

battleaxe 01-11-07 10:38 PM

why does this forum constantly quote FF?
its the only one i know of that quotes it on a regular basis when a car doesnt look like ur own... which is either stock, or u have lowering springs, 100 dollar wheels and a big turbo?

gnx7 01-12-07 11:49 AM

because drifting is gay...... and stretching tires on wheels like you do is absolutely stupid.

What is the performance benefit of stretching a tire like that?

shineautoproject 01-12-07 12:51 PM

Hey Dave,

Do you know what type of wheel you want? Is it going to be a 1-piece or 2 piece with a fat lip?

The burnout fronts only extend about 20mm wider than stock. The rears are about the same.

Sorry I havent replied sooner Ken, been busy with work. Called up CCW to order my classics. He took down all my information down about the car and the Widebody kit that I bought from you. Also gave him the KS Auto burnout wheel and tire package. He told me that I should run a 18X11 +44 and 18X12 +25, with 285/30 and 315/30 tires. He said he wanted to research the car more and how much more wider the body is, because he wants to do some test fits. Do you know how much more exactly the rear and front fenders are?

MisawaJason 01-16-07 02:20 AM

Your car is going to be the sickness Dave!!

chmercer 01-17-07 01:41 AM

god that sounds fucking gross

MisawaJason 01-17-07 01:46 AM

you should really trim down the size of your location bro

battleaxe 01-17-07 10:05 PM
