Brembo vs Gotham Brake Rotors???
Ok im in the market for some brake upgrade.
Not a the whole brake kits. but upgraded rotors/pads and lines.. anyways.. did some research.. Brembo's have rotors that are slot and drilled and zinc coated. Vs. Gotham Brake rotors, taht are slotted/drilled and zinc coated.. but $40 cheaper. Has anyone have any experience with either brake rotor and is the brembos better or not than the Gotham rotors?? Or am I just paying more for the Brand?? thanks |
There a good chance the original discs are cast by the same foundry. After that they are drilled and slotted by subs for the seller.
Probably little difference. |
so are you saying?? go with the Brembos???

No OEM-size aftermarket rotor is going to be an "upgrade" over the stock rotors. In fact, drilled rotors WILL crack in track conditions. You may get a little extra initial bite with the slotted rotors.
So, the answer is that it doesn't really matter what rotors you buy if you aren't tracking the car. If this is the case, just go with the Gotham's. If I were still in the market for stock rotors, I would just get Brembo blanks for $55-60 each. |
I have a set of the Gotham Rotors and am very happy with them so far. Granted, I have only used them on the street. From what Rich Ferrall told me the rear rotors are sourced from a subsidary of Brembo. I'm not sure about the fronts, but they are of the same basic design.

Thanks guys..
my FD is mainly street driven, with some 1/4 duties. Will probably go with the Gotham Rotor/lines set up. Anyone know why the RX7 Brake Kit is so expensive?? $585. I broke down the set, two front rotors, two rear rotors, complete steel brake lines and 2 sets of Hawk Pads, seperately. and its CHEAPER than the rx7stores SET. what am I missing???? |
