Brake Rotor Question

Hi,
I recently bought a 3gen that really need a brake service. Im not looking or anything crazy the car will see the occasional track day so just looking for a good street setup.

I desided to go with a set of hawk HPS for pads but im at a loss on what to do for rotors.

I went to mazda and was quoted $691 for a set of oem replacement rotors. Which seems insane!!
I have a 91 skyline GTR with the same size rotors on it and the gtr oem come cross drilled and they only ran me $400 so i almost past out when i went to mazda

So i guess i was just looking to get pointed in the right direction.
Hear what people are using for rotors, and should i be expecting to pay $500-800 for a set of street rotors.

Thanks for your help
Dan

Moral of the story...try not to buy parts from Mazda. ;) You can get powerslot/racing brake or w/e rotors for a bit cheaper from any number of places, and have the option of slotted or cross drilled, ect. no need to go to Mazda for them.

Several places have kits (pads, rotors, SS lines) for around $400-600:

Unless you need something for a big brake kit, just get standard blank rotors which you can find for around $50 each at basic auto stores like NAPA.

I'm a big fan of Centric rotors made by the parent company of StopTech brakes. The rotors are of very high quality and well priced. I particularly like the "Premium" model b/c the centers are coated with special paint so they don't look all nasty and rusty. The C-Tek model is also nice and cheaper
