Brake pads
I have a set of racing pads on my car right now, the front pads are at 10% so im going to replace them with the set of stock pads that i have. Is there going to be a problem having race pads in the back and the stock pads up front? I can just replace all the pads with the stock ones if there will be problems running different sets of pads, im just trying to save myself work :) Thanks for the replies.

mod, move this to suspension/tires/brakes

You don't want grippier pads in back. Not only will that eat the rear rotors, but that leads to unstable braking.

What brand and type of pads are on the car that you need to replace?
I doubt they are real racing/lapping pads. There is almost no way you would be able to heat them up on the street to be able to stop. |
If i knew mahjik id tell you, but the pads are on the car and the box the stock pads are in is just a box with no labels. The guy i bought the car from said there were race pads on the car (they are probably street/track combo pads or something). But would you say ill be ok replacing the front pads only?

For the street, I'm using the Bonez Stage I pads: http://www.rx-7.com/store/rx7/fdbrakes.html They don't dust much and have a really good initial bite for the street. These are not track pads so I don't recommend going to a HPDE with them but they should work just dandy for AutoX. |
