Blew my Tein HA's, found some Megans... rebuild the Teins?

Well,
I bought a set of Tein HA's years back and honestly they were probably blown when I got them. Now my car is just plain not drivable and I need to have the Teins rebuilt. I have no suspension that will fix my car sadly ATM, but someone on CL just posted a set of new Megan Racing Coilovers. They happen to need some new seats, and I have some R1 seats laying around. I am considering trading them.
My question is should I rebuild the Teins or just sell them? My car is just a weekend/track toy and sees very little miles each year. I realize Megans have a very poor rating, but I am hoping they would be ok until the spring. My Tein HA's currently have stuck collars, blown dampeners, and need to be re powder coated.

take a look at "BC Racing" coilovers.. they are highly regarded from teh 350z and Subaru guys. You can have them valved for and sent out with 8/6k or 10/8k springs. $1000 basically.

go to the link and there are links to reviews on various forums...

if you run this for the winter you'll have no problem reselling them in the spring. hell, PM me if you do :D... to busy spending money on my build right now.

Come on... Teins are legit! Are they not? or jdm??? but honestly if you hold up a megan side by side to a tein, the teins are very much hulkee er.
In my opinion, Megan=Sore butt. Tein=Win.

BTW, Do you have a spare FD diff with housing, axels and driveline?

I would get a quote through tein and find out how much they want first then decide. I'm guessing you have to send them to tein to get a quote though.

I'd go and get them rebuilt. It only cost me about $125 each shock for my Konis and they repainted them.

koni or bilstein! you dont have to deal with struts, so coilovers really arent a 'bargain'.
jared (jkstill) runs koni yellows with coilover sleeves and his car kicks ass :)

Im ditching the megan idea, just to many bad things about them. (Not to mention who is selling them....) Looking at some Koni Yellows temporarily.

If all you need is a temporary fix till the Teins get fixed, you could just get stock shocks and springs and run them for the few weeks it takes to turn things around. Definitely cheaper.

I am going to be parking my car for the winter here in a few weeks and just going to wait.
I have a set of stock shocks, but with 18" wheels, they like to rub.

i have a rear pair of TEIN HR's blown (the old basics non adjustables), brought it to TEIN USA in Downey, CA and got a quote of roughly $550 for both. since the model is old, they have to get parts from japan. it's a little too costly for me so i had to pick them up and tell them i'll rebuild them another time. :(

just wanted to let you know how much you'd get yourself into.

if you want to see the PDF file of the quote, you can PM me.
