BF-Goodrich G-force R1
 

Hey guys, has anyone used the BF goodrich G-force R1 tires on the FD?
I am thinking of getting a pair for next summer, but I wonder how many Km's they can tke before replacing.

They're DOT, but tread wear rating is 40....so not many if they're driven on the street. And it wouldn't be safe to drive them in wet conditions.

I've driven 2 seasons with r-comp tires, street driven totaling over 12,000miles and 15 auto-x events. They were RA1's. Treadwear was 100 though, 40 is like a Hoosier.

These were introduced as a direct competitor for the Hoosier R6. "DOT" designation or not, they are NOT for street use at all—different from something like a Toyo RA1, R888, or a Yokohama A048.

I wouldn't even use these on the street in the dry. A tire like this or a R6 have a very limited number of decent heat cycles, then they drop off lie stones. The recon I've heard on these for the track is that they are very competitive w/ the R6, and it may be down to the type of car or driving style employed as to which is ultimately quicker for you.

^ ^ I agree. If they are like an R6 don't use them anywhere but on the track. Not only would it be a complete waste of money to DD them, but when you would need them on track, they would be hard as a rock.
