Well, since my front tires are nearly toast, its forceing a decision soon, cuz i don't really want to put another set of tires on the SSRs.

It's interesting to note that both Pete and I have SSR Integral A2s. I have 9 x 17s all around, Pete as 8 and 9 x 17...

If they had made an 18x10" integral, thats what i would have gotten, and wouldn't be changing.

Heres a pic w/ a 255/35/18 S03 mounted on an 8.5" rim on the back of this S2000. Doesn't look bad.

yup... but my desire for a 10" rear probably wouldn't happen then... i'd likely pair it w/ the 18x9.5 +38 rear, because the 18x10" +42 would stick out alot further, and the 275/35 tire would look alot more stretched...

I'm actually surprised the 10" +42 fits under the rear fender lip, but tirerack says it will w/ the 275.

FWIW, here is the Fikse fitment for the FD:

F: 17x8.5 - offset = 37.7mm, backspacing = 6.23"

R: 17x10 - offset = 44.0mm, backspacing = 7.32"

You'll note that with those offsets, and backspaces, an 8.5" Fikse is actually 9.625" wide, and a 10" is 11.125"!!

Note these offsets are within 2mm of the RG-Rs 8.5 +36, and 10 +42, so it should "look" virtually the same, though i doubt BBS wheels are as wide as Fikses.

Pete, FWIW, you can go 10 x 18 all around with 2 inch offsets, so long as you have 2.5-inch coil springs. To be safe, you can go 9 up front with 45 mm offset, and 10 in back with 44 mm offset.

You're right, BBS RG-Rs' overall widths are probably only one inch greater than nominal, thus, an 8.5 wide is 9.5, and a 9.5 is 10.5 wide...

Either way, we're going to be "King of Bling"

I should have got the 8.5f / 9.5r. Well, I am still happy with 17x8f and 17x9r. I have 245/40 fr and 265/40 r SO-3. I ordered mine in June thru a local shop which did a special order for me and just got it in first weel of Sept. They say 4-8 weeks. It is more like 10weeks for me.
BTW, I did not weight them but they are way lighter than my old mito modulars.

Thebestmotoring, did you get DSK finish? 10 weeks? Man I'm not that patient! Could you post pics? Perhaps I should get DBK finish, since you have DSK? Wait will be shorter?

Here is the pic not enough light to take the back wheels. But the back has about 1.75" dish for 9" wide.

Is that DSK (Diamond Silver) or DBK (Diamond Black)? Tight front caliper clearance...must be due to the BBS RG-R's relatively flat spokes...

I thought it was the DBK, but I was surprise to see it is more like my buddy's SSR competition color vs. dark grey. The front caliper has about 3/4" clearance, more than the pic show. Here are few more pics but still raining outside so no sunlight pic.

DBK looks lighter than what I've seen on BBS's website. Thanks for the pics! Car looks great, much better than when I saw it last with Mito Mods @ Road America May 2000.

Please post pics when you get these wheels on! I want to see what they look like on a red car. The RG-R's are on my "short list" of wheels that I would like to buy

I'm in the same boat Peter... so I just got a new set of "rain/street tires." I pick them up tomorrow. Here is a picture:

(but mine has the steering wheel on the other side)

Maybe I'll put something stickier than the RA-1's on the FD next time around, which will be soon considering I have almost no visible tread on them.

i've got a daily driver too (i'm going to buy a hybrid this fall), but i'm not ready to go w/ full-time R-compounds on the RX cuz it has several duties.

I do like to take it on short trips, pimp it out around town, and pick the occasional street race, as well as track time, so i need real street tires for it. Plus, i'm considering retiring it from track use, and just going back to skip barber arrive and drives.

Peter, that's the way to do it. Get a dedicated track car like a Radical SR3 Super Sport LOL

the reason i'm considering going back to barber is because i don't think a street/track car is the best option... too many compromises. And too many worries about wrecking it. The only "dedicated track car i'd consider would be a pure racecar... open wheel or sports racer... no point in trying to re-engineer a street car into a racecar.

I'm think i'd rather just show up and drive Barber's open wheel cars. Blow a motor? who cares, its not my dime. Plus, i think their advanced cars are faster than all but the most extreme track FD's.
