Ball joint and Tie rod boot questions...
 

I just purchased a new set of ball joints for the FC and also looking to purchase a new set of tie rod ends because the boots are cracked on both. I got to thinking my energy susp master kit has new boots for these included. Should I go ahead and take the boots off the new ones and repack with my good shaeffers ultra red high temp high pressure grease? And then put on the energy susp boots? Considering the grease they put in them from the manfu. is probably pretty cheap and the energy boots are probably better than the stock boots? OR would you just leave it alone and go with it until these boots give out? Thanks

original tie rod ends are probably worn to hell.

replacements are not expensive. i would just get new tie rod ends.

That was the question, not should I get some new ones.

there's nothing special about the es tie rod end boots
i'm sure whatever grease is in there already is fine
imo just leave them alone

So anyone else want to impart some wisdom on me.

No one else has replaced the boots on these?

I looked at the boots on the ball joints and they look to be un-removable unless I were to cut them off.

DO NOT USE THESE BOOTS. Thats all I have to say.

Theres absolutely no way for them to stay in position on the ball joint they just slide over the top and the bottom doesn't have a lip or anything. Like there supposed to stay there and not push any of the grease out when they move around. Bullshit.

they are supposed to attach themselves at the top via a real tight fit
there's also supposed to be a lip inside that keeps the grease in

if you're using non-oem tie rods, its possible the diameter on the tie rod end is not the same as oem, causing your issue
