Any way to make 235/45/17's fit in FC front fenders?

I wanted to run 235/45/17 Advan A046 tires at all four corners in my S5 TII to-be- track car. I chose these tires because they're OE on the Mitsu Evo VIII, so they're easy and cheap to come by used, and they're right about at the proper tread depth for track use when people sell 'em. Anyhow, I was told they wouldn't fit stock suspension in the front. How can I make them fit?

Ted posted pictures of that size in the official fittment thread. Another good option is the 225/45/17 Bridgestone Potenza RE070, which is OE on the STi, and they get taken off to go with 18's and the like all the time. I just picked up a set for myself this fall.

8.0" with an offset between +28 and +32 should do it.

The wheels I have are a +40 though, Can I make 'em fit with spacers or rolled fenders?

10mm spacer and longer studs will do it.

fyi longer studs = 98-02 camaro studs. can be found on summit if you want some shiny gold ARP ones.

I thought Camaros had....oh wait...nvm I was thinking of the different bolt pattern; that has nothing to do with the size of the bolt.

camaro studs look cool in back. they stick out about an inch past the lug nuts (gotta use open ended nuts of course)

oh, and 35mm offset is ideal for 235/45/17, so get a 5mm spacer

I wish I would have gone with that size on my mustang wheels. 225 45 17 just doesn't look right on an 8 inch wheel. And I am sure 235 would have fit.

35mm isn't the perfect offset, 30mm is better. I like the way a 225/45/17 sits on a 17x8, nice straight sidewalls for good feel and grip without it looking rediculous like the drifters with their huge stretches.

Those studs are plenty for the rear, but in front they're barely longer than stock, these in the front will probably make it more or less equal front and rear.

ah cool. so about an inch of extra threads in the front? did I hear that right? and then the ones I posted above will give me about an inch of extra threads in back?

and both of these will press-in no problem?

sorry to thread jack... but maybe the original poster can use this info too. lol.

That should give about an inch extra all around using the 2 different lenghts. The fronts are easy, remove the hub, press out the old bearings and press in the new ones. The rears are harder, as you must remove the hub, but take it as an opportunity to do some preventative maintenance and replace the rear wheel bearings while you're at it. I was "lucky" and my wheel bearings died when I was planning on putting in the studs and I had the shop install them when the hubs were off (didn't have the time/tools to fix it myself).

those studs work great. in the front, it'll only be a half inch or so longer (maybe an inch), but its enough. with mustang wheels mounted, the front studs still stick out about a 1/4 inch out the top of my lug nuts. in the back, the stick out about an inch farther. if you used a 10mm spacer, there would still be enough thread engagement, thats for sure.
and in case anyone cares, i just checked the other day- with tein flexs, 255/40/17 30mm offset fits up front :-)

Is that a 8.0", 8.5", or 9.0" width with the +30?
That's some serious rubber up front!

I can clear 245/45/17's on the stock Mustang GT rims up front with Tein coilovers, and no spacers.

no pics, i dont have a camera.
the 255/40/17 is mounted on a 17x8 mustang gt wheel. the rubber is really close to the coilover, but still spins freely when mounted. im sure 265 wouldnt work (if they even made that size).
i can only say this works for flex's, cuz thats what i have. im sure some other brands have less clearance
