Any opinions on Megan Racing coilovers, other suspension bits?
I'm thinking of competing in a Time Attack series next year with my S4. This will be my 7th season in the series. Past five seasons have been with a Miata.

OK, this is not a suspension bit, but I'll just throw this in here too:
Racing Beat Road Race exhaust
This is not a big-budget, expense-is-no-object racing program. Total cost for the above should be about $3k. Any thoughts on the above components, or suggestions for alternatives welcomed. Remember, the budget isn't huge!

Fortune coilovers are probably the best budget coilover for the FC (unless something better has come out in the last 5 years).
I was really impressed when I drove ScrapFC's NA FC SCCA CSP race car on Fortune 500 series coilovers on my local touge.
I personally had JIC FLTA2, JIC FLT-TAR and Stance XR on my SCCA SSM TII race car and I preferred his Fortune coilovers.

Fortune coilovers are probably the best budget coilover for the FC (unless something better has come out in the last 5 years).

Depending on your power level and setup, you may only need a front sway bar. The RB endlinks are ok, but I’d run solid heim joint endlinks from Mazdatrix instead. The RB ones will start to bind if you use the optional holes in the ST sway bar.

You won't have *****, that probably have no linear relationship to twiddle, thought about just getting Bilstein inserts suitably valved, rather than questionable east asia stuff?
S4 and 5s are red-haired stepchildren in competition classes here mostly, but the earlier cars used in competition, I'd reckon 90% would use billies. Adjustable seats and springs should be no biggie.

Hobbling a coilover kit together for the FC is a pain even if you know what you are doing and if you don't know what heavier car to grab the inserts from for race spring rates you are going to have to re-valve your shocks anyways.
Fortune Auto most likely does use parts from East Asia in their coilovers, they also use parts from Europe and the USA and assemble, dyno and match the shocks to within 3% side/side here in the USA.
Fortune is on generation 6 of the budget 500 series. That is 6 times they have revised their product in order to make it better and they aren't afraid to admit they are still striving to make a better product.
You do get to choose your spring rates (or have them help you) and they valve the shock to suit.

No knowledge of the Fortunes, comment was directed at his first choice. On the older Rx7s racing here, front insert was from a popular local GM product 30~35mm shaft. Too long ago, but vaguely remember mazda strut OD was around 50mm on them.....FCs you'd hope were beefier again and maybe something bigger again was suitable. Price on the front corners was cheap, even once digressive pistons were installed. I get wary of "a" spring rate being recommended, unless you're running the same or very similar tracks all the time in the same weather state, swapping springs is one of the unfortunate realities.
