any input on the Sustec Pro SEVEN with the TEAS system

just what the title says, any words on this set up? says it has speed sensoring, it lowers it seft at different speeds...any input if these are good?

Listening closely...

Where do you see "speed sensoring"? It just looks like it has electronically adjustable damping, just like the Tein EDFS that's been out for years. It doesn't automatically adjust anything, unless I missed something. Good to see Tanabe finally producing a coilover with independent pre-load in other than a pure race model.

hahaha...sorry, it was 3 in the morning when i wrote it, i may have misread, but wouldnt that be great? lol, i was reading another thread and some1 said something along the lines of that, but i guess i mixed up the speed sensoring with the dampening, my fault!! i admit it! lol dont hang me for mis reading...but you think they got something out there for our cars???

Rynberg, how would you rate Tanabe's suspension parts in general anyway? I've heard they're alright, but have been improving a lot as of late.

And is the Tein EDFS the only other electronically adjustable dampner available?

cusco also has an EDFC type deal out. it appears the tanabe is the only one to get a speed sensor involved.

from some pics from sema:

apparently the thing senses the speed to adjust dampening?

the cusco one

Too bad it's only the dampening. Where are the freakin speed-sensor involved ride height coilovers man!!! :D

Active Mode

This mode takes readings from the vehicle speed sensor to automatically make changes to dampener settings for the front and/or rear of the vehicle.

When programming TEAS, you may program up to 9 'triggers' that occur when you reach a variety of speeds. Iincrements of as little as 5mph can trigger a dampener setting change.

Once Active Mode is programmed and turned on, TEAS will automatically adjust settings as your drive.

Function:

For any road, be it a circuit, city street, or winding road, there was usually never one single 'perfect' suspension setting. One dampener setting could be good for one high speed turn, and then it would cause understeer on a lower speed corner. This concept of suspension setting is changed with TEAS Active Mode, and allows drivers more control, and less compromise on performance.

Because handling characteristics change within fractions of a second, it would be nearly impossible to attempt manually adjusting while driving. TEAS is a different concept due to high flexibility of the ACTIVE MODE, since the suspension will continuously adjust according to how you chose to program it.
