affordable brake rotors?

Hello,

I'm looking to replace my f&r brake rotors but I'm having trouble finding ones that aren't outrageously expensive. This car is 99.9% a street car so im not really looking for anything crazy, just something with decent stopping power that doesn't cost$4-500. I have better fluid, stainless lines and Hawk pads currently so anything half ways decent should do the trick. I have looked into eBay rotors but I dont have any experience with them other than dba rotors on my old Miata which worked well, so any insight on their offerings would be great. If anyone could point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

Call me at the shop or email me. I have a very affordable brake package than includes rotors, pads, ss lines, fluid. Can sell them seperately as well.

I run the IRP kit. I've been very happy with it.

napa use to have them pretty cheap. Go online and price them at the part store.

I bought brembo rotors on ebay for a good deal

Im gonna have a set of f&r used rotors for sale within 3 weeks if you wanna wait. They are cross drilled and slotted. I don't remember the brand but they are in excellent condition.

No warpage, about 5-7k miles.

Here you go:

Tire Rack should have them also.

Centric (parent co of Stoptech) brake rotors.

Wrong section btw. :)

You could check out the Racing Brake's rotors, they have rotors at ~120per. I believe they actually make them themselves, so the quality should be better and they look rather nice, kind of like brushed aluminium. I'm going to shoot for those, my current brake rotors are rusting over every 2 days...

I would very much avoid racing brake like the plague... this is the second time this has happened on brand new rotors...

This happened on a stock brake car with HP+ pads(not a very aggressive pad) at relatively slow speed.

you can guy brembos for $65 each on autopartsway.ca

EDIT: actually $59 on the US website

I was just going to pull the trigger on a set of these rotors. What did Racing Brake say in response?

The first time this happened, they said they had a casting issue with one of their manufacturers. The second time, the owner of the car didn't bother.

Here are the pictures from the first racingbrake rotor failure(happened in 2010):

Scary. I'm running an RB setup

RENESISFD 09-16-11 03:14 PM

^^ What car was that on? What size is that rotor?

That must be one scary feeling the car must pull real hard to one side.

These were on an FD with stock brake calipers and Hawk HP+ pads. Luckily, it happened at the AutoX and not on track as it does jerk to one side. The consequences would have been much more severe most likely at the track.

IRPerformance 09-16-11 11:01 PM

I can do all 4 rotors for around $200

Their 1 piece rotors are no longer available for the FD. Its scary that their $325/rotor would break like that!!!

Looks like it would be best to go through a vendor for some blanks from a company such as Centric or Brembo.

imtiaz 11-27-11 10:38 PM

im looking for brembo cross drill front and rear rotors. .

FDSeoul 11-28-11 08:21 PM

I run Brembo cross drill, love them, 26k+ miles and zero issue. Great for weekend autocross events, take the time to change out your pads to some good pads likes EBC while you are in that area. good luck
