Adjustable Strut Bar question

Should an adjustable strut bar be setup in tension -pulling in- or compression -pushing out-??

strut <<<<==========>>>> strut

or

strut >>>>==========<<<< strut

?????

Nobody knows?

C'mon! Most R1/2 strut bars are adjustable, what do you guys adjust it for?

I would park the car on level ground and install the bar with no tension in either direction. Its made to hold the struts in place. If you want to change the angle of something, adjustments to the suspension should be made.

Adjust for tension pulling inward. I read an article a while back about strut bars and the engineering involved, and it mentioned the force being exerted was tension, not compression. This was especially true for MacPherson strut equipped cars.

I wish I could remember where I found the article, I'll make an effort to get a link up.
