5Zigen no longer supporting the FNO1R-C
After damaging one of my Hyperblack FNO1R-C rims, I was shocked to realize that 5Zigen is out of stock and doesn't plan on getting anymore. I have only had these rims for 9 months and want to keep them. Just thought I would share this in case someone else has these rims. If you do, better keep em ' out of trouble.

Any reason why? Are they just coming out with a new model? Those things seem to be selling like hotcakes.
|
this news, if true, would totally suck.
|
Thats fucked up... i was going to get some for track wheels.
|
I think he is only referring to the Hyperblack colored fn01rc wheels, rest of the colors should still be sold.
May I ask how you damaged them? I also have a set of fn01rc, and they'll be used in an autox car later this year. |
Thats one of 5zigen's best model. Would suck if they discontinued it
|
i just ordered on not too long ago. same deal, one wheel screwed up. how recently did this happen? I went through tires.com hopefully i am not getting bad info.
|
Depending on the damage, you may be able to get the wheel repaired. There was a thread recently about wheel repair shops.
I'm looking at buying some Volk wheels now and it makes me nervous how they often discontinue colors or styles. Jack |
i looked into it and nobody seems to know how to do the hyperblack coating. i am sure mine would be repairable, but like i said they couldnt match the color.

There is a large chunk out of the wheel where it made contact with the suspension in an accident. Not sure its repairable.

I seriously doubt the FNO1R-C's are in danger of being out of production any time soon. They're 5Zigen's hottest sellers, and they are selling out as soon as they come in stock.
The Hyperblack finish being discontinued is a possibility, though. Dale |
I just spoke to 5Zigen (they called me!), and the only thing that is officially out of production is the 43mm offset. They did however offer to give me a free 35mm offset (plus me buying one)so I can put the 43's up front and run new 35's in the rear. They were very concerned about making me happy. Will 35mm ofset work in the rear on a 17x9 rim?

Here's a pic of the 35mm offset:

Better not lower the car and expect to be able to turn the front wheels.

i guess mine was the 18x8.5 with the 43mm offset. So that may be why i didnt have a problem.

that seems like excellent service. if i had read this earlier i would have been tempted to buy wheels from them.
|
is this true? becuase i just ordered some hyper blacks for my car through wheel works. For some reason it wasn't even shipped to me on friday and it's been a week.
|
What size?
|
17x8 35+
|
You should be OK. The 45 offset is the ones you can't get.
