3rd. Gen. Rims on a 2nd. Gen.

I just bought some 3rd. gen. rims to put on my second gen for autocross.
What size tires do I need?
Also, I know i need spacers. How wide?
Thanks,
-RXTASY

i'm not sure about tires, but i think u can fit 245's on there with 25mm spacers. i'll be doing the same thing in like april or may http://cwm.ragesofsanity.com/s/cwm/b.gif

Auto'xing with 25mm spacers is definently not recommended. It is very strenuous on the wheel studs and bearings...you will need to get new studs that are longer also.

No way the 245's gonna fit up front without MAJOR fender work...

ive got the spacers and 225 just barely fit on the front. 245s would fit on the rear though.

i think the 3rd gen rims are too wide to go on the front unless u roll the front panels and stay with 225's.....having managed a busy tire i have seen someone trying to make it fit and not make it rub.... suggest trial fit with 225 on front then drive in parking lot as see....good luck

DELTA_Rotary 03-19-01 09:55 PM

nah as long as you get good spacers and studs they fit fine i dont have any rubbing even in really hard cornering. Heres a pic.
