3 peice wheel barrels question

Ok might be a dumb question but nobody has givin me a strait answer lol. I am just learning more about rims

long story short picked up 8 re amemiya rims and noticed that I could make 13.5 wide wheels if I put 2 inner barrels together

But then I noticed that on the outer barrel there is a decline and on the inner barrel there is raised section.. Now with 2 inner barrels it has a slight incline like a stepped lip on each side would this make it impossible for a tire machine to mount a tire on these if was to actually bolt them together this way? Or would the tire even be able to be mounted properly? Since I've seen lots of stepped lip rims it made me unsure

Thanks and sorry if it's a stupid question lol but would be great to know

Yes it will make it difficult for a tire shop, but not impossible. Best solution is to take your idea to a local tire shop and ask.

Hope it helps.

it would make it pretty impossible... the tire bead falls into that lip so the opposite side can be pulled over the edge.

The easiest way to do it would be to just assemble the wheels around the tires.

Memoryfab can build custom barrels and lips for you.

Just sent them a email.

Assembling them in the tire would not be a option as you need to silicone around where both the barrels seal to the face on each side

here are some pictures, its not as bad as it could be

Those are actually reverse mount, so they'll be fine. You actually mount the wheel upside-down in the machine and take the tire off the inside of it.

So using 2 inner barrels will actually make it easier for most shops because you can un-mount/mount tires normally.

Oh my god that info just saved me lots of money lol.. I'll double check with a tire shop before I spend the money getting the barrels polished tho haha
