28" Tall ET Streets, Will they fit

I plan on using some 28" tall ET Streets on a 16" rim.

Will the fit?

Will a stock rim work or should I try one that tucks in a bit more?

Thanks

Why don't you just run the 26" ET Streets on the stock wheels?

Brian Hinson with an LS1 powered FD runs 15x8 drag wheels with 4.5" or 5" of backspacing (not positive on offset) and has a 28" slick. Obviously you can't run lowering springs or '99 RZ rear brakes.

Good luck,

I can't run the 26", it ends up being too much gear. I have an LS1 conversion and 4th ends at 114 with a 26" tire, 28"'s get me 122.

Mine is an R1, thats lower than stock...Hoosier makes a QTP 27" tire.

How much lower is an R1 than a Touring?

An R1 is the same height as a touring. The T56 6-speed has 4th topping out at 114? That seems strange. Perhaps you need a higher rear-end ratio. Are you still running the stock FD rear end (4.1:1)?

Yep, running the 4.11.

I'm going to switch over to Jimlab's Cobra diff setup and go down to a 3.27 or 3.55.

I just raised the rev limited 400rpm, so that'll give a few more. I figuire the car will run 116-118, as long as I can just squeeze it in that would be cool.
