255 on 10 inch rim
 

OK here's the question:

Can I run a 255/40 on a 17x10 rim? Please stick on the topic... I know that 275/40 is another common size that will work, but my question is can the 255/40 work well on the 10 incher?

Yes, that's the recommended max wheel width for most, if not all 255-40-17s. Porsche used same on many of their older production 911s.

Its also really popular to run the tires like this now because there is no sidewall buldge....

already starting to drool from what I think is a picture of a Noble wheel

255 will sit on just fine with 10" wheel. I have a friend running 245/35R18 tire with 10" wheel and it looks just great. From drifting scene there is lot of drivers having a LOT wider wheel than the tire is. One of sickest I have seen is something like 185 tire with 9 or 9,5" wheel (on hatchiroku).

hahhaa, I wondered how Noble's posted such incredible acceleration numbers on "tiny" 255 wide tires... but now I see that with a 255 set on a 10" wide wheel that its a meaty mix good enough for some serious traction.

Now that the 255 on the 10s has been answered, let's talk about the Noble :) Nice car!

The Pirelli Corsa's are a much better choice than the Bridgestone S03's for this car. The treadwear does suck, but they're super grippy.

The noble is a fun car, but aftermarket parts are really a pain in the butt to find.

Another confirmation for you Brian.. I just installed a set of 255/40/17's on my 10 inch wide wheels.
