245/45 R 16 on stock rims with eibach pro kit?
 

Anybody have any experience mounting 245/45 R 16 on stock rims on a lowered car? Will it rub?

I highly doubt that!
the 245/45 is almost identical to stock diameter

I had that setup with Koni shocks using the stock perch locations and didn't have a problem.

fits fine, only time it rub might be when you take hard right hand turns, especially those clover leaf exit.

yeah, i'm worried about high-speed high-g corners at the track.

if you have the money, get an extra set of wheels and tires for the track.

look in the for sale section, someone will hook you up.

I have an extra set of wheels already, the hard part is getting them to the track! I'd need to buy a Cayenne, trailer, house with a driveway...

I mounted 245-45-16's on stock rims, with stock springs, struts, and sway bars, ran 2 seasons of AutoX (18+ events a year) and at least three track events, with absolutely no rubbing anywhere, anytime. Speedo will still read correct speed too. Now if Kuhmo would make the MX in that size for the street.

With an Eibach pro kit you will probably find you have some rubbing with ANY tire size.

As was stated about a 245/25/16 is a great size for the FD and shouldn't run anymore than the stock 225/50/16.

If your event isn't too far you can always drive to the event on your race tires.

I use Toyo RA1 tires for my track days. They usually last me about 8-10 track days plus about 5000 highway miles going to and from the track. Highway use hardly wears them out at all. I'd say 5000 highway miles equals about 1 hour track time. Of course you have to be careful you don't wear them down too far and end up with corded tires to drive home on.

Also, you CAN fit a full set of four race tires in your FD. One in the rear hatch, one behind each seat on top of the storage bins and one in the passenger seat.

I have Eibach springs and ET38 17x8 front and 17x9 rears (235 and 255 tyres) and there's no rubbing. Not even on the track ;)

Two tires behind the seats? I'll have to try that, I can't imagine...

i've been running the same as you jayk (a032r + stock wheels) and they're loud :P

however, no rubbing even on the track. (then agian, i have koni yellows, set to second perch in the back, highest in the front).
