18x9.5/8.5 both with +35mm and 275/255's will they fit?

I found the rims I REALLY want to buy..however I cant seem to get a straight answer anywhere..ive searched and searched but couldnt find anything. The wheels I wanna get are:

Rear:18x9.5 +35mm
Front:18.8.5 +35mm

And I want to be able to fit a 275 wide on the back and at least a 255 wide on the front.

Now, I do have greddy coil overs and I will (if need be) roll the fenders as much as I need to. Will these wheels fit and if they will...will they look normal. I dont want wheels that stick out of the wells..and if they sit in a little bit ill just make up for it with tire width to get them as flush as drivable possible.

wheel size yes, tire size no. not what you want to hear but 225/40/18 front 255/35/18 rear.

Rx72Heaven 09-27-07 01:02 PM

35 mill offset will set the rims outside your fenders. If you want to stay resonable go for about 43 mm offset atleast

Oun 09-27-07 02:05 PM

alot of the time attack FD's with stock fenders run 17x9.5 with a +35 and 255/40/17. it will NOT stick out of the fenders. HyperRev magazines are your best bet to see what wheel and tire choice you can go with and you'll see what it'll look like on the car also. happy wheel hunting :)

i just ordered the sportmax 006's last night
18x8.5 front +35
18x9.5 rear +35

according to jimlab's fitment spreadsheet, this WILL fit, but it will be close to the fenders: about a tenth of an inch clearance.

for the tires, i'm going with 245/35/18 front and 265/35/18 rear so its going to be close. i definitely wouldnt go bigger than 245f/265r with that offset. your coilovers wont matter because you have over an inch of inside clearance front and rear...

kool man, I run 17x10s with a +25. take some pics after u get em installed :)

Wont rolling the fenders give me a little more room? And can you PLEASE post pics of these wheels on the car so I can see what kind of room im working with. I Really dont want to go skinnier than a 275 out back. Im going to call ADR and see if they make them in a custom offset..in that case I can try for a +45 and go with an even wider tire.

jacobcartmill 09-27-07 04:37 PM

yea rolling the fenders will give you a few more mm to work with, maybe 5mm or more. i'm no fender rolling expert

you really should just download that spreadsheet in the stick that jimlab made (the guy posted it above) you can just change the numbers in the cells (for size, width, etc) and it changes the clearance to tell you what will and wont fit.

with 9.5 +35, 275's will probably not fit even after rolling the fenders. you'd need to move the wheel further back about 10mm, so you'd need something like a 45mm offset. why dont you just get 245/265? just wanna brag about how much rubber you have? :)

i'll post pics, but my wheels are in the mail and wont be here til the 4th

Snyper 09-27-07 08:09 PM

Hmm..I found a comparable set of wheels with a +40mm offset all around..maybe I should go with those.

Link? I want to see

I talked to the lady and they are available in a +40 all around.

paul_3rdgen 09-28-07 10:01 AM

My current setup is 18x8.5+40 and 18x9.5+40, 255/30/18, 275/35/18
Don't even think you can run and offset less then +40, you will rub guaranteed. I have my fenders rolled and my wheel arch height from the ground is set at 25in, I don't rub at all but before I rolled mt fenders I rubbed on every launch and rubbed in the front while cornering. +45 on a 9.5in rim is ideal, for street/track setup, you can run 265/35/18 on all 4 corners with zero problems and have the bonus of being able to rotate. BTW I run manual steering as well so don't worry about a big size up front, it isn't that hard to turn the wheel.

jacobcartmill 09-28-07 04:31 PM

paul, do you have any pics of your car with the wheels/tires you speak of?

you said you rubbed prior to rolling your fenders with +40... i just ordered the same size wheels with a +35 offset, but with smaller tires:
245/35/18 F and 265/35/18 R

Jimlab's spreadsheet said it would be a close fit, so i decided to go with slightly narrower tires. do you think it will rub? wheelmax claims on their site that a 18x9.5 +35 with a 265 will fit the rear, so now i'm more curious about the front :dunno:

ok awesome. it looks like i'll be ok with the slightly smaller tires.

RISEN 10-06-07 12:43 PM

Updates?

1QWIK7 10-08-07 08:29 AM

265/35 is more suitable for the rear with a +35 offset

235/40 is more suitable for the front with a +35 offset.

apex_7 10-10-07 08:53 AM

Just for reference, this is a 17x9 +17 w/ a 235/40 - Which is equivalent to a 9.5 +23 or a 10 +30.

This will fit, but only because of the slight stretch and rolled fender... but it definitely won't work w/ an LS6 ;)
